Shall I opt for British Gas 2011 fixed tariff?

A few days after looking into British Gas 2008 I saw they had introduced one until 2011. I assume this is that the new increased rates so if this better then the fixed to 2008 one? What is the difference in cost between the 2 tarriffs for electricity and gas units? I assume there would be penalty charges to swap to but was wondering what the new 2011 tariff actually is.Thanks

Im personally holding out as i think british gas may know something about a price drop in the possible future. Those that are locked into their price till 2011 may indeed end up paying more than those on 'variable rate' from, say, 3rd quarter 2009...

You never know whats in the bag, the credit crunch cannot continue forever, some things will have to give way.

Just my thoughts though so dont act on them :)

But do you know what the difference in the tariffs are? They seem to be advertising it but bit telling people what they are...!

the 2011 is a slightly higher price but i really cant see prices going down !!!!

then why the massive push to try and get everyone capped we might ask? it aint out of the good of their hearts, they are a business after all, i sense a drop in the future and lots of people disgruntled and locked into a higher tarrif
