Shall I sell my car?

Basically, I'm thinking of selling my car (Honda Civic 54 plate)

its got one month tax left (till the end of april)
and just about 2 months of mot left (until the start of may)

Anyways, Shall I MOT it now and sell it, or just sell it as it is?

It does say the earliest i can do it is the 4th of april but I was just looking at my tyres a while ago, and noticed my alloys had a hit from a pot hole and a bit of the thread is like pointing up (not facing the tyre but towards the inner circle of the alloy)
Will that affect my MOT?

Thanks =]

have you got a picture of the wheel/tyre ? make my judgement easier.

Full mot will not only add to the value but make a quick sale more likely. I wouldnt touch a car 9unless it was a banger for a quick run around between cars) with less than 8 months ticket left, tax isnt really important as this is quick and easy so long as MOT and insurance are present.

If I saw your car with 2 months MOT I would avoid on the thinking "if its so good why hasnt he put it through again, why get rid of now as its coming to an end?"

Mot it first.

If the tyre is dangerous it will need changing now. If not it should pass the mot anyway...

from the pic it dos'nt appear to be too badly damaged & as long as the rim isnt distorted from the pothole hit or the tyre cut, then from what i can see I would advise on it. The only thing is keep an eye on the rough piece (bead rim) closest the tyre sidewall, make sure that its not cutting into the tyre.

Might want to tidy that wheel up...Any prospective buyers looking at that would naturally think that you're probably a dodgy boy racer and don't look after your car!! No offence!

I'd get myself a tube of this to repair it and snap the old piece off.

The tyre looks ok to me, it's the wheel that appears to be damaged, Do you still have the original wheels for the car?

Unfortunately i haven't got the old ones! Its a 3 door civic, i've had a few interests since I've had alloys on it - the old ones were like 15" so it kinda made it look far to standard!

Thanks for the link =]
