Sharing a Printer!!! :-S

Computer Geeks / Nerds - I am in need of some assistance please...! :)

I have 2 computers at home - Desk Top and Lap Top and want to use the same printer. What is the best way of going about this.

The only way I know ( ) is physically unplugging the thing and connecting it to the other machine!

Any guidance would be much appreciated.

Ta.

Depends on various factors. Are the computer and laptop close to each other? Are they on a network? Does the laptop need to print from another room? Etc etc.

If they are close together and you dont want or need a network, a simple printer splitter will do fine.

All in the same room, using a wireless router, but not a network!

Cheaper to make a home network then, very simple if your already on a wireles router.

Most of those steps would already have been taken so you can go straight to:

The computer with the pinter physically plugged into it would need to be on for the laptop to print though. That's the only downside. Other than that, wireless print servers, but then your talking 40 quid or more.
