http://www.em61.com/product.asp?id=1634

Dunno how much shipping is from China though or even how much Customs will charge or even if the site is legit or not.

But a good price though ! Anyone wanna risk it ? :-D

Is it odd that a member on here recently mentioned that these were available for £619 from the Sharp Factory Outlet and then this very same set appears on musthave100 at precisely that price after someone from that site acknowledged reading the very same thread ?

My dad got his Beko from Musthave last week. I've posted pics of it on the misc. forum thread about the Beko. Flimber knows me from DVDF, if you're worried about my post count.

I do and am in no doubt that peeps are receiving TVs. I find it odd that this start up company is managing to source stuff at keener prices than other bigger fish and my particularly sensitive alarm bells rang from the off. Maybe I'm wrong. I genuinely hope so. Don't want to see members here or anywhere else getting screwed over.

Where the Beko is concerned, from what I can gather, Beko is in the process of rebranding (say bye to the Beko name). MustHave had graded stock in for £100, then Argos and Homebase dropped their prices to £199 for non-graded stock. Can't really comment on the Sharp, mind.

Oh, just remembered something. When I spoke to Amy about my dad's order, she mentioned the Sharp, as we were talking about stock levels and fulfilling orders. If memory serves me correctly, Amy said they have 74 units coming in (Sharp). I think she said 74, anyway - it was 70 something.

Comprendé but MH100 are delivering free so that maybe takes £6 off their margin so what are they ultimately buying these sets at themselves ? £65 ? £70 ? £75 ? The MH100 MD is either a business wizard for snatching them up so cheaply or a business failure for passing on his savings to the consumer. Or else he's just knocking off someone in BEKO sales...:giggle: It just don't look right, IMO.
#22
well why doesnt anyone who wants one buy them directly from sharp for £619! that would eliminate the risk or am i missing something

I'm trawling the BEKO threads looking for the post...
#24
Hi peeps.

I posted the original post on this telly (linked to earlier) for a laugh when everyone was debating the £100 Beko's.

I personally wouldn't risk that sort of money with a relitivly unheard of company. Those who have more balls (than the monkey!), go for it and let us know. It's supposed to be a great telly but what if they don't deliver?

do you have a link to how to buy direct?

How come the live support is always offline? :?

And I agree with Flux. If someone has the link to buy this telly direct from sharp for the same price, then post it!

According to MH100, the Bekos were done cheaply to try to bring people to the site and give them some publicity to get the company a kick start. That's second hand info, though, as it came from someone else on here who has contacted MH100. Like I said, I can't comment on the Sharp and why they are selling for that price, as I have no clue. I can understand it with the Bekos. I reckon they've bought a bulk load of the graded Bekos at a dirt cheap price. The box my dad's one came in had a big rip along the front, as well as both sides having big holes in (like the sides had been kicked). All that was in the box was the tv, power lead, remove and batteries. The remote and batteries were knocking about at the bottom of the box (not secured, like with other electrical items). I know one of the sets Guv received didn't even have a box.

I think you have to go to one of the Sharp outlet centres (where they sell graded, returned and refurbed stock) to get the Sharp at that price.

Came across this old news article while looking for Beko reviews:

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/northamptonshire/4185281.stm

'650 TVs stolen from parked lorry . Six hundred and fifty television sets were stolen from a lorry parked overnight on the A14 in Northants. The driver of the lorry discovered the theft of the Beko sets early on Tuesday morning, police said. The lorry, which had a yellow cab, was parked up on the westbound carriageway between junction two and the M6 interchange from midnight on Monday. '

Ok, the article dates from Jan 2005 (so may be too old to be these Bekos) but it seems a bit coincendental as the M6-A14 junction is hardly a million miles from Coventry (about 10 in fact!) -perhaps someone's decided its time to clear their shed out...

Found this thread on the AVForums from back in August - Pioneer Plasma TVs from musthave100:

Seems a couple of people bought them from them and received them without problem.

well they accept western union transfer and visa electron cards so must be pretty safe bet?:giggle: the return to base warranty would be pretty expensive as well...... as the £200 odd import tax/vat!

well - I've chosen to bite the bullet and ordered one - my only concern is that the address on the Google Checkout is on a small street in E6 - no where near anything that resembles a trading estate or anything legit. I saw a previous post that had Coventry as their location - not according to the note I just got from Google checkout.. infact - is my credit card covered if I used Google Checkout?
oh ****.. what have I done!??.......

Screwed yourself:?

In the face of accepted wisdom regarding this company, you still got your credit card out for a "too good to miss" bargain:p

Hope it works out for you

there shouldnt be a problem. the company have good coms. wat did the delivery date say? just contact them tomorow and ask when you will recieve your tv. people who have bought the beko tv were woried and asked for a refund and they got it from the company but have regretted that.
#36
I'm really considering ordering one of these, plus I live in Coventry anyway so I could always turn up at their Business Address if things go wrong. I will order on credit card anyway so I will be protected if anything does happen!
#37
If this is genuine then I'm gutted!
I bought the 42" version of this a couple of months ago for just over a grand (with p&p).

The good news though for those who get this telly is that it's a fine piece of kit, comparable with sets costing a couple of grand. You can also download the manuals from the Sharp website. http://www.sharpelectronics.info/Manuals.aspx

To those that receive this, you've well & truly got yourselves a bargain!

Have emailed musthave twice about this tv in the last week, telling them if they can get one in stock for delivery in the same week I will pay no bother. But they have not came back to me at all. Wating four weeks seems to dodgy to me. Gives them enough time to clear their account and then you wouldnt be able to get your money back from paypal. I Know they have delivered one or two bekos but II'm still not sure about them! Anyone know if theres a sharp outlet in Scotland?or would they deliver?
#39
does anyone have a list of where these outlet shops are?
