Wondering if anybody can help. I have a parcel that i may need to ship to Malta. It's just under 4kg in weight and approx. 40cm x 40cm x 40cm. However, i'm struggling to find any way that i could ship it without it costing £75 odd, which is what royal mail/parcel force online are quoting as royal mail won't ship anything over 2kg it seems.
I've tried a couple of couriers i can think of like parcel2go, interparcel etc. but they seem just as expensive. Does anybody have any ideas or better places to try for a quote? It's needs to be trackable too please :)

Does your parcel contain one item or several (so that you could split them and do two small packets each weighing less than 2kg?

Thanks but have tried those and they're still £75 odd

You'll probably be paying the volumetric weight - based on the dimensions would work out to be 11kg - can you not make the parcel smaller ?

Good grief! I didn't realise. I could probably downsize it but it wouldn't be by much. Smallest i could possibly get away with would probably be 30cmx30x30.
I'm thinking splitting it down might be the best way to go:thumbsup:

30x30x30 brings it down to 4.5 kg :)

Wow! You're fab. how exactly are you working that out if you don't mind me asking? I'll go check what the price would be for that
edit - Parcel2go would be about £41 for that, s that's heading in the right direction :)

I work for an international courier company..... you would not want to use us though.... far to expensive ;-)

Have you considered using a wholesaler ?
Where are you based ?

You're not being thick, I was...... a wholesale courier company basically wait until they have loads of stuff going to the same destination (they can negotiate cheaper rates with airlines this way) then send everything once they have enough.... its a slow option.

Malta is a bit of a mare as its a small island - you'll notice air fares are pretty steep, its the same for air freight.

Try one of the big forwarders IE:Fedex, TNT or UPS, you might get lucky :)
