ok so half an hour ago i called up to cancel my contract because i've seen a good deal on the satio on vodafone. vodafone are offering a free satio on £30 a month with 600 mins unlimited texts 500mb internet and you get quidco too. called up o2 to see what they could offer and they offered virtually the same but with no internet and wanted me to pay £50 for the phone. they also went on to tell me how quidco are shady and i shouldn't use them and also how the satio would only break and be very unreliable. i'm not daft, i know the satio was recalled a little while ago but it's back on sale now meaning they must have sorted out the little bugs.
tbh i'm quite shocked at o2! now awaiting my PAC by text, does anyone know how long it usually takes?

When I went to cancel I had to bargain a bit. Walked away with a new 18 month contract, 600 mins, 500 texts, free Internet, and a free iPhone 3gs 16gb.

really?

A certain member on here had over £500 in his transactions (ready to be paid).

Rolled over past 'payday' to have their account cancelled, no explaination by scamco. Nice £500+ in their pockets though eh?

I just get "tracked" items not get paid.

I dont even bother using them at all now. Topcashback.co.uk has been fine though.

to be honest that his fault...never would i leave over a £100 sitting in a online company like that! I've set my limit to £50 before it gets transferred into my bank!

Yeah, topcashback are great, no 'admin charge' can request the money as soon as it's paid too.

wouldn't use quidco again.

Would you think its my fault if my car was stolen from my drive for leaving it out in the open?

I'd put the blame on the thief personally! :whistling:

ok maybe i didnt write it is i meant it...

what i was trying to say is...its not very wise to leave £500 in a company like quidco incase the account gets cancelled etc....

going back to your example....you're right the fault would be with the thief...but if in the car you left £500 then../????

Companies like quidco & topcashback is a bonus..i wouldnt decide on what i buy from where on the what cashback comapnies offer! I'd rather miss out on cashback and buy from a trustworthy company...
#18
well the way i see it, quidco is a nice little bonus if it does pay out. i'm not dependant on it to afford the deal as it was the best one i could find anyway :)

They dont just retain you for paying your contract amount every month!

If you have a £20 contract and that is all you pay then they wont try as hard as someone with a £20 contract who spends £50 a month!

i got a brilliant deal last time i upgraded so was a bit dissapointed with what they had to say this morning

I was on an o2 contract and they didn't offer any decent deals after contract, but if your on o2 through carphone warehouse they give great deals. used e2save/cpw on cashbacks for about 10 years + now and never failed to pay and at the moment i am on 600mins per month for £3month on a 18 month contract. sent off 2nd cashback last week and they texted me the other day to say next cheque on its way.
quidco has not been great lately, nothing seems to be tracking

I've been with O2 CPW for 6 years. Reason I like them is because picture messages and text message sent abroad come out of my text allowance (albeit at 4x text messages). You can also automatically save all your contacts and text messages online without you doing a thing. Whenever I have a problem I have one person I speak to and with a direct line (if he's busy I leave a voicemail and he calls back within 15 mins or so).

For 6 years I've been on 12 months free on a 12 month contract, last 2 years they were unable to offer me a free phone and this year they could only do me 18 months @ £5 / month but I do get 500 minutes, 1000 texts and unlimited internet for that so can't complain. In my personal opinion, I think retentions have been great, they bend over backwards to keep you as a customer offering you an extraordinary deal! Retentions are also happy to waive any unexpected charges on your account come renewal time.

P.S I don't work for O2 but I am a very happy customer!!

Normal O2 has that.

Yeah I know, I'm just saying why I like O2 as appose to other networks though tbh I don't even know what they offer as I'm happy where I am.

Oh and ditto RE Quidco comments. I earned £2000+ with Quidco but stopped using them in 2008 when Quidco announced they were gonna stop using certain affiliate networks and read an increasing number of Quidco horror stories regarding non-payment / unexpected account closure. I've been using Topcashback ever since and happy to say I've earned £400 with them so far am very very happy with their service.

EDIT: 1000 posts woop woop!!
