Shopitize rumours - please be aware....

Just a heads up / be cautious post. A few people have been complaining on facebook and posts on here about being locked out of their Shopitize accounts and even after trying to reset their passwords they still can't log in. Shopitize have not posted on their Facebook page since 1st September which is quite unusual and they are deleting peoples posts who are asking what's going on off their wall and comments and not responding to direct messages and emails.

If you can still access your account, it might be an idea to try and get any money you have owing to you out of there as a precautionary measure. Some people are saying they have been emailed about accounts being suspended / closed due to people using common devices and threatening action as the claims are fraudulent and that they are looking at reclaiming the money from them so all in all not looking too good.

Some people also reporting withdrawing their money and it's not appearing in their bank even after a week so please draw your own conclusions but just be aware what has been going on

Panic posts like this can do irreprable damage to a company.

Companies do not usually send out accusing emails like they have done!

If anyone is interested you can find some details about Shopitize on the Companies House website beta.companieshouse.gov.uk/com…751

    And on this website companiesintheuk.co.uk/ltd…ize

    Total Assets less Current Liabilities:

    2015 -£926,784
    2014 £797,448
    2013 £268,370

    Shareholders Funds / Net Worth:
    2015 -£152,646
    2014 £1,146,609

I am no accountant, but those figures for 2015 don't look healthy to me.

Well either way, thank you for letting us know emribena, its appreciated.
I've withdrawn my money, as it can't hurt either way if I get it..

Had this issue contacted them and after 2 working days got a message to say try logging in again and my account is back working with the same password as before.

You are right. Sad, that in their heyday, we'd all be getting an Easter freebie right now. Still, re your money they're holding- where there's life, there's hope? I'd love to see shopitize back. Extraordinary that they were the best, onceover

Got locked out of my shopitize account last week ( £2.70 in there) . Some bs message saying I needed to log in, then saying my password was wrong ( it wasn't) Also, had been searching for a mislaid receipt for the groceries tab on tcb as I had the message to re-snap... that has totally disappeared now. Explains why tcb have recently re-launched their own shopping cashback deals. ( of mixed appeal)

I'm surprised Shopitize is still alive tbh. Their funeral must be nigh (bless them). They were very good once though and I miss their weekly milk offer!Having to pay £1 for 4 pints now!

Ye, I've lost out to the tune of £5.20 in total, but hey, I gained far more than that in the good old days. Yesss, I miss them. Loved the days of the always discounted milk, the weekly freebie, the items that ended up costing 5p, 10p or 15p after cashback. Ooh, and the ones where, when combined with a coupon, we were in profit.

  14. Wongy111's avatar
Well that would be a tad annoying £3 in mine
would have thought withdrawing when you reach the minimum was best practise anyway

Would be a surprise as they obviously signed up to do TCB's groceries recently
edit;Would imagine they will switch entirely soon

Thank you for this OP I wouldn't have realised not on facebook hadn't read any shopitize threads for a while

I don't really understand what could have gone wrong they are just middle men/women take a cut of dosh from the merchant and pass it on not rocket science
any fraudulent activity' shouldn't have made any difference to the business model(unless it was them)

Good to see they're paying out people. ILoveCashback on the other hand, … Good to see they're paying out people. ILoveCashback on the other hand, is 100% scam like everyone knows but I gave them the benefit of the doubt as their website went live again. Nope, never got the cashback that I had on my account and I requested the amount to be sent to my Paypal.

A lot of people have requested withdrawals over the last few days and they have received an automated acknowledgement which says that their request is being processed. It remains to be seen whether these people actually receive their money or not. On Shopitize's Facebook page, a user stated that a couple of his friends requested payouts last week and haven't received their money yet, so it's not looking good

Any apps including Shopitize and any other cash back sites at this … Any apps including Shopitize and any other cash back sites at this present moment when you hit the minimum credit to withdraw then hit that button ! IM NOT SAYING SHOPITIZE MAY BE ON THE VERGE OF BANKRUPTSY BUT I MYSELF HAVE HAD 2 OTHER CASHBACK APPS THAT WENT INTO LIQUIDATION THIS LOST ALL CREDIT I HAD WITH THEM ! Shopitize need to get a better public relations manager as what they did sending them malicious , nasty emails as put many of its customers backs up , by the way they did this many started to think hmmm sounds financial this and they maybe in a very difficult financial position ! Hence many have looked up the financial position of this company and anybody with a calculator or abacus can easily work out its not looking very good for them ! IIM NOT SAYING THEY WILL GO INTO ADMINISTRATION , I myself at this moment in time would choose to withdraw any credit ASAP as a precaution , I myself now with their customer service would and will never trust them ever again ! I really think a public apology to the customers they've wronged would maybe gain a percentage of these customers back but TBH I really think you nailed toooooo many nails in that coffin ! Time to answer people on FACEBOOK AND TWITTER ! This story will get to a bigger audience soon if you do not organise a proper apology ! And give your reasons for such appalling customer service ! Actually no customer service at all @martinLewis , @dailymirror &tradingstandards ! You probably need me to reverse your demise , if like I think it's due to them financials for 2015 then there is just a small hope you could maybe come back from this ! Slim chance , but the way you did all this was very irresponsible ! Before you gained facts , I'm writing this as I know they are monitoring this page including others that are commenting but believe me not responding in a reasonable way then just lock the doors let the receivers come in and put it down to Sara and that blanket email ! But again that is me just giving an opinion and in no way would feel that this might be the outcome , I myself hope this is not the case ! I just read financials and just think about it deeply and possible outcomes , I do however hope and wish you every success , maybe take heed of people's/customer comments , the longer you leave replying or keeping quit then the people whom you have angered will continue to make this bigger on social media , mainly because of the lack of replies and letting them know what is going on ! Also via THE FREEDOMS OF INFORMATIONS ACT , can you please tell me how many accounts have been suspended and what is the total credit in them accounts as a grouping in total ? @shopitize I'd be very grateful for a response within 14 days

    Impressive rant

Just seen this on MSE facebook page - shocking....
    Hello Martin.
I’ve no doubt you will be aware of the Shopitize debacle.
I, like many others encouraged my family to use shopitize as a way of saving for holidays and Christmas. After all everyone has to shop somewhere, may as well make a few extra quid.
The savings were coming along nicely for this Christmas,
(about £600 collectively) Then without any prior warning, like thousands of others, we find our accounts have been blocked and our funds frozen. Shopitize have given no reason for this, just a blanket email virtually accusing everyone of fraud.
I have emailed Shopitize and asked them to explain exactly what it is we are all accused of. But they don’t reply.
One theory I have is; they are in a financial mess and are looking for ways to reduce their debts. This way they can suspend thousands of people’s accounts and withhold their funds. It does seem like they are targetting those members with a substantial amount in their account.
Or it could be just another “ BHS”. All the director seem to be from Australia with obscure names. So while they are sunning themselves on some nice warm beach, our Christmas will be cancelled.
Now I know you like a good fight Martin, so how about taking this one on.
    Peter.

I've seen many people post them on Twitter, and they reply to email them... not sure of the delay but they do ask people to email them.

It's a bit worrying to hear all this, I really like Shopitize... fingers crossed it all works out in the end....

It seems to me they're on very dodgy ground and even if they catch a few people out, they'll have annoyed many more innocent people through the invocation of draconian clauses within their T&Cs.

Offers are garbage now and not worth the effort.
It needs to ditch topcashback and go back to how it was.
