I never normally watch these channels so I don't know why they would be on. Has anyone else noticed this. I'm on Virgin by the way and I've not found any default channel setting on the tivo.

I should also mention that I've got a Samsung tv but I'm fairly sure that the CIA is not behind this.

perhaps the world doesn't revolve around one person.

Think in this modern day, us humans pick up this marvelous invention called the remote and then we change the channel.

Personally I quite like having on the shopping channels if I am tidying up or just milling about, there's this one dude on ideal world that is camp as they come and pretty funny to watch.

Have you informed them that you don't watch them? I'm sure they'd appreciate you letting them know. After all, I'm sure they'd rather not waste money on something that doesn't interest you.

Is it not that it's the last channel you watch at night not broadcasting first thing many channels then have the paid adverts on them.

Aren't the adult channels shared with the shopping channels?
They switch over during the evening and morning.

OP is someone waiting until you go to bed to watch the 10 minute preview on babestation oO

perhaps be brave enough to turn it off

Okay for clarification. Last night I switched off on BBC1, in the morning the tv started up on ITV2. This has been happening for ages and I've ignored it but now I'm suspicious. Sometimes it starts up on MTV - when they're advertising ab trainers or occasionally something else. It's never a non-telesales show.

Loads of channels have teleshopping in the wee small hours when they are not broadcasting. Have you honestly never noticed? Either that of Richard Branson is secretly targeting you and you alone. You have to decide whether it is a conspiracy or cheap tv.

Yes but is it always telesales. It's never some documentary about animals humping each other or some political programme. The tv should start up on the channel I switched it off on.

Have you considered that your TV may be haunted?

I too turn the tv on in the morning, and the same exercise crap is being advertised... Some mornings I glimpse myself in the mirror whilst getting dressed and consider buying one, then I remember that's why they advertise the crap, and change the channel :{

I think this is because the TIVO automatically records suggestions using all of its TV tuners when they're not being used. So presumably it's recording these channels and when you turn it back on its defaulting to one it was recording as a suggestion. You can check your suggestions folder to see what's been recorded. You can disable suggestions altogether if you want which would stop this behaviour (if this is actually the cause)

Edit: Oops this post is pretty old, I dunno how I just found it by accident :p

You haven't got a late recording happening at night do you.

A brick or a hammer would do a proper job at fixing that. Would you like some assistance?
