shopto.net refund/replace problem

Hi,

I was just curious if anyones had an issue with them refunding faulty items, just brought brink on pc, I recieved it, it wasnt sealed and there was no manual or cd key either, so i sent it back stating this and shopto are refusing to refund or replace.

Told them I wasnt happy and that under consumer rights the item was unfit for purpose, now there telling me its being sent to management?

I dont see what the problem is, i could of lied and said i never recieved the item and the money would of been in my account by now.

This was the reason i got back from shopto

Hi,

Our returns team have looked into your faulty return and they have contacted both our warehouse and our supplier and have confirmed that all copies of this game were dispatched sealed. This unfortunately contradicts the information you gave us on your returns form, and because of this we will have to decline your request to return this item. Your item will be sent back to you via Royal Mail First Class post.

never had a problem with them myself, i didn't receive 1 game (out of hundreds of orders) and they refunded me without a problem, from me uploading the form, to receiving a refund it took less than 5 minutes

can't fault their customer service, they must really believe that you're trying to pull a fast one



i guess if they only send it first class and not recorded, you could claim if it doesn't get delivered wink wink but..

a) they'll probably know you're trying it on since you've tried to return it once and they might not refund you/send you another
b) you'll have to sign a form and if it does turn up, it's classed as fraud
c) you'll have to wait 20 days or something

they had an "issue" with cards once, which wasn't even their fault and actually nothing to do with them

if people actually read what happened they might understand

That was what i said to them, just because they say they sent it sealed, im covered as i didnt recieve it sealed therefor its unfit for its purpose. So surely i should be entitled to a refund anyway? Besides i actually havent recieved it back yet either.

thing is you have nothing to gain by saying it wasn't sealed as you could have just downloaded it illegally anyway if you wanted to, not great publicity if your watching shop.net!
