If it is just a quick basic site then try freewebs or geocities. They are both your basic drag and drop, but come plastered in adverts. For doing it yourself try microsofts frontpage, that is another wysiwyg style program. Otherwise just browse the internet for basic web building tutorials.

Has she already got hosting?

What does she need it for?

I have a few sites done in different things and if you can give me an idea of what she wants it for I'll be able to recommend something... if she has hosting with a similar control panel to mine I'll also be able to walk her through some

is there anything similar to frontpage?

thanks for that angel, but something similar to frontpage is all she'll need until she has time to learn the languages properly.

You dont need to learn the languages with most of them. Joomla os open source, free and can do a million and one things. You install it in a couple of clicks, and install extras with another couple of clicks.

For anyone who doesnt know code, I'd thoroughly recommend it. My first website took over 8 months (even with help), but my first Joomla one was up and running within 30 mins - its literally that good!

Some hosts have it in built so you click a button and it installs automtically thats why I wanted to know if shes hosted... as I could have recommended a couple...

If you let me know what she wants it for I can find her the free extensions to put in (literally save to your computer, browse and upload then) and you can add all sorts of functions to the site.

Was just going to say the same as AK below.

Get a web engine such as Joomla or wordpress and life is much simpler, download the files, upload them to your web host, follow install instructions and bingo you have a good looking, highly functional website.

Then you can spend a day or two changine images and colour schemes and thats it your done.
