Most places won't give a quote unless you are 24+

Does anyone know/ have any websites where this is possible?

Is it on someone elses car? Just wondering if you could add yourself to theirs instead of getting an individual contract?

Scrap that

Do I have to be 23 years or over, is there anyway this can be done for someone under 23?

Age 23 is the minumum age required to obtain a short term car/van insurance policy. Higher age limits may apply depending on the vehicle you would like to insure.

That must have recently changed.

I got the address from http://www.freeindex.co.uk/article%28temporary-auto-insurance%29_190.htm and they said "For ages 21 - 69 (or 21 - 75 as an additional driver)" :-(

How long have you had your licence for? Less than a year? If yes, then this can cause problems as most insurance companies providing temporary cover only insure people who've had held their licence for at least a year and are 21 or over.

If you have not held your licence for a year, then the minimum cover that you can get is for a month - nothing less than that I'm afraid.

Have a look at http://www.dayinsure.com/ - I can't find anything about how old you need to be though :-(

Thanks for the help guys. I sorted it out...but for future reference...the best option was to add an additional car on top of my existing insurance policy....worked out cheap as chips. Rep for all those who helped.
