official id is driving license, passport, PASS card, citizen card, age card (with hologram), electoral card (with picture). Anything (...and I mean anyting else!) are unofficial.

According to my work a National Insurance card is an official form of ID and it's a government establishment

curious. why should a prison warder be turned away from a club? squaddies i can believe as many do start fights, thinking they are all macho etc.

It is, however most clubs will just say no on the assumption you are trouble.

Most clubs round my way only accept drivers license and passports. It's just to keep things simple really, so the door staff dont have to worry about whether an ID is genuine or not when someone turns up with some random card.

Most people have a DL or passport so i dont see the problem really.

That is the biggest sweeping statement of bull crap I have ever heard, Armed forces personel don't go out looking for fights, it's a myth, because if they get done by the civvies, they get done by the forces and career+over.
Most set too's start as the locals are jealous, as men in uniform tend to get a lot of attention, they are manly and tend to have a lot more cash than the locals, it's the jealousy factor as people get jealous of their machoness:)

Wouldn't say it was over money agree with the rest, squaddies don't earn a lot in fact a dumb squaddie wanted to smack me because I earned more than him. He was boasting about getting £200 a week after tax and I just said well I earn £350 a week and don't have to put my life in the line of fire. We both work for the MoD but he gets less than me stupid if you ask me.

Less people than you think but I think with every younger generation every few years its just becoming common amongst them. I only got a passport a few years ago and never take it out and have only been Id'd when in Chester one Saturday night and this was everywhere apart from the student club who tried turning me away saying I looked to old to be a student.

In my experience most people with ID are either underage people or girls who look a bit younger i.e the ones who are id'd regularly

i hate it when me and my mates get id checked for a bar /club and when we get in there its blatantly obvious that 75% of the people in the place are underage
