Should I ask for some sort of retribution?

Made an order at Pizza Hut online on Tuesday. Due to a glitch on their website I was charged around £100 for two pizzas and didn't receive a single pizza from them. They have arranged to provide a refund in the next 1-2 weeks, but do you think I should ask for some sort of courtesy 'reward' or something seeing as I am out of pocket for quite a lengthy amount of time now? Do you think they would even do that?

Yeah ring them and explain how inconvenient this is to you, personally I would be fuming just for the sheer principle of it. I hope your not one of them people who don't get to the point in a serious tone of voice, don't let them fob you off.

I know we shouldn't expect something for nothing, but in this case where money has been taken with no product it just isn't on. Ring,be calm but firm.

Compensation! Thank you so much I just couldn't for the life of me think of the word. I'm thinking of writing a letter instead - far more likely to be acknowledged. Anyone got the address of head office to hand? :L

I kept my cool to be honest as the woman on the phone was very nice about the situation, but in the letter I will make it clean but **** off!

Good idea, but dont think I could do it!!
I personally wouldn't accept the refund in 1-2 weeks, I would go as high as i could (manager) until it was sorted straight away.
They obviously realise what has happened, so they are saying they were in the wrong, so play on that now, and demand your money asap with compensation!!!!! Most poeple don;t have that amount of money to spare!!
I personally wouldn't write, I would phone. It will get dealt with quicker, then if your not happy with outcome then write

On the phone - she stated there was a problem with the website and they were aware of it. Also It doesn't help that I'm 17 and a quarter of my entire money I own is with Pizza Hut..

Yes, anyway, does anyone know where I can find an address other than simply the CS one? I have my doubts that my letter will be properly read if delivered there.

Why is it taking 1-2 weeks to refund you? What if you were on a low income and that money was set aside for rent/bills/direct debits? It’s not acceptable. You need to contact their head office to complain, here is the number: 0208 732 9000.

I had a problem a few years back with them, that’s the number I called if I recall correctly, I also had to put in a complaint in writing to their Head Office but I am now entitled to one free pizza a week for life for my troubles.

In an event like this I would expect they will give you some sort of compensation in mind anyway, don't know what but I would be surprised if they left it at refund and on your ways, because they will know it's a bad situation and they will come across losing customer/potential future customers.
1-2 weeks for a refund? What the hell would me by response. I'm sorry but if they can tell you have been overcharged, forgive me if i'm wrong but why can they not sort a refund out there and then. I kind of wish i was in your situation, just to vent anger at head office and I want a free pizza every week for life.....

Retribution - harsh no?

Hah. I've got to the end of my letter - not sure how to finish it. "I hope that you understand my feelings towards what has happened.... )

How can I finish that to directly ask for compensation of some kind?

Should I send the letter recorded?

This is the short version:

Moved to a new area, first night ordered a pizza, pizza hut driver delivers pizza and develops unhealthy interest in me, goes back to shop and somehow finds my number from their ordering system and starts harassing me by sending me weird voicemails/texts/trying to speak to me. Next day I go to the police station, they call him and warn him to stop, he doesn’t, next day I go back to cop shop, they do a home visit and phone registered in wife’s name tell her what’s going on and to tell husband stop harassing me. I go in-store to the Pizza Hut shop to register a complaint, manager totally disinterested, rude and made out I was the one in the wrong. I contact HO, threaten bad press, something about breaking data protection act and violating my privacy, complain about poor lack of customer service from manager in resolving issue, end result driver was fired and about a month later I assume the manager was too, either that or they relocated him, and free pizza for life plus £50 compensation.

I used to have a pool at work where everyone would put their name in a hat and I would pick one out and order what they wanted and bring it in for them the next day. If there was a homeless shelter or some other worthy cause nearby I probably would have taken it there instead. Since moving I still do the random name out of a hat thing but probably about once a month I’ll order one to actually eat with my partner.

Here's how I would end the letter:

I trust that this matter will now be dealt with promptly and that not only will you refund my money immediately but also refund the costs of my various communications. I have found this whole experience very stressful as the sum involved is a very large one for me. I have also been very upset at the time I have had to spend dealing with this situation and with the response I have, so far, had from customer services.
I would like you to bear in mind that monies were taken and no pizza at all was delivered to me. I look forward to receiving suitable compensation.
Yours faithfully,

Changed. Should have guessed really with a name like fluffyundacrackas (and a kitten in your avatar).

Surprised though you can look at a pizza after your ordeal, let alone a lifetime supply of them

Sent an email into the CEO of Pizza Hut alongside the written letter. 9 mins later;

"Thank your for your email. The experience you describe is unacceptable and I will make sure it gets investigated as a matter of urgency. I will address this with my team tomorrow morning.

My apologies for having let you down - we will be in touch very soon."

Let us see the outcome!

you should have ended the email with

P.S. I don't work, nor do I attend any form of education, so in the unlikely event of you not compensating me, I can sit on a computer all day and negatively publicise your company.

good day sir.

*******jokes****

I hope so as I am in full time education and also have a job. Furthermore - If the outcome is positive, that positive outcome will be told here.
#32
wow what a crap experience you have had...looking forward to the CEO response.

Well - my refund finally came in this week - not too bad but I still missed a bill because of it. Today I got an email from the marketing director telling me that he would personally put the money in my account plus a little extra for my troubles after the bank holiday, unfortunately having already received the refund I've had to tell him not to. Gotta hope he will still compensate me somewhat!
