Well I can't speak for the galaxy S2 but I have the omnia 7. I love my phone. It does everything I want to do and it does it well. It runs windows phone 7 which is set to be upgraded in a big way later on this year. Search for 'windows phone 7 mango' for more info on that. It will definatly be a bigger competitor once this update happens.

However right now it can be a tad slow particularly when loading the marketplace. The number of apps isn't huge, but there's enough of a variety for my liking at the moment. It is missing features that are currently available on an android phone. It also requires Zune to sync up music and stuff but I personally like Zune so it wasn't an issue for me.

The interface is generally really smooth and a pleasure to play around with and the build quality of the phone is good. It also looks much better in reality than it does in pictures imo.

With regard to future proofing, all windows phones must meet a minimum hardware requirement. This means that any updates in the near future will be compatible with all windows phones until they up this minimum hardware requirement. I can't see this happening anytime soon.

With it being £12 cheaper a month then it would be a serious contender for me. If the mango update were out now I would say the omnia 7 hands down!

Get the Omnia or any Windows 7 Phone, It gets better with every update. You can alos get some good games on it Angry Birds, Doodle Jump, Pacman Championship to name a few and there are some great free games and apps to download. Pandas Vs Ninja, Freelander, Juice Factory

I'd go for the Galaxy. Minority platforms either expand and gain market strength or they wither and die, and as it is, WinMo7 is doing the latter. The problem is, when the platform goes south, no-one will bother developing anything for it, so while your friends with iPhones and Android phones are running brilliant apps, you'll be stuck with whatever Microsoft and its partners can be bothered to provide. Go with the Galaxy, and you have Android, which is the world's biggest smartphone platform, and is only getting bigger.

Haha, got the confirmation that delivery will be monday, i'll try it out then send it to you for say £35pm ;)

I have done a little research & it seems a solid phone & the update later this year will mean this price is an absolute steal.

Its £50pm at orange with about double the minutes & texts, making this TMobile offer even better especially if you will stay below 300 mins/texts

I got one yesterday , its a decent phone, web browsing is better than android imo but still has a few improvements which could be done. But imo its the best phone for around its value. It will take some getting use to but the touch screen is amazing I can type super fast with it.only thing is its big I don't know if my case makes it feel bigger will try it without later. Is there a way to get free games for this? Like jailbreaking an iPhone etc.

I just moved to the Omnia 7 Deal with T-Mobile from the iPhone 4. It reduced my monthly cost by about £25, and the only thing that actaully annoys me about the phone is the lack of memory. But I knew the 8Gb might be a problem.

Everything else it does well, as has been said above, and the fact that it is so cheap is fantastic.
I would recommend this handset, providing you don't need much music.

1 Other thing annoys me and that's the cost of the apps. Apps available for iPhone for 59p are a whopping £2.49 on WP. I assume its because of xbl achievements, but still. I doubt I'll ever spend on a game on it, but who knows?
