Should I buy another xbox 360?

Hi everyone - I have a dilemma, I have an arcade xbox 360 which I have had for around 3 years, it is the third console after the RROD and it has now finally died and freezes when you attempt to play for more than 5 mins.

I used to have a ps2 and I am now considering the ps3, which will be hassle as there will be a change of games and the added expense of more controllers etc. But is it really worth me giving Bill more of my money.

I enjoy xbox live, but mainly use it for fifa, what is the online gameplay like on the playstation?

Seen some bad reviews about the new xbox 360 console, those who have it, are they warranted?

Anyone with a PS3 have you had any problems?

Thanks for any help anyone can give.

Happy Dealing!

I had a PS3 was sick of updating each time I wanted to play a game, also the one I had suffered ylod from lack of usage so had to get a replacement from sony... both consoles have there faults, you can pick up a 360 S relatively cheap, these should be more reliable

I may want another PS3 when uncharted 3 comes out, however it would be a bit daft just for one game

Thanks for your comment, is this YLOD common? I hadn't heard of it before

stick with xbox m8, every PS3 owner I know in work has bought an xbox for gaming and use the PS3 for media
#4
more common with older PS3s I believe, however mine was a 120GB Slim only a year old...

also common enough to be featured on watchdog... but like i say all consoles suffer with faults, guess it's just look of the draw and how they are stored

Just remember people don't post on the net/contact watchdog to say their console runs fine. ;)

I would say 360 has the worst record as most of the people I know have 360's or/and PS3s and nearly all have had a 360 die on um.

We had 3 PS3's at work and 1 failed but they were launch ones.

If your going to get a 360 its better to get it with warranty.

Very True. I have a PS3 and every game needs an update! Very annoying, some games need to install on HDD. AHHHH!!!

Atari 2600 with walnut finish = proper games machine,
NO online lag, no YLOD or RROD

problems with both and both have there pros and cons, just go with whichever will bring you the most fun out of a console and dont listen to one sided fan boy views. make your own mind up

if you only really play fifa then there isnt much difference between online gameplay at all, except your paying the 5er privelidge per month on the 360, with that tough comes its benifits of better friend and party intergration some would say better servers (But ea servers on both ps3 and xbox are pretty rubbish i must say), but if you think about it do you really need that for playing online 1v1 on fifa?

Get a PS3.

OP when my 360 died with RROD, I brought a PS3 to replace it.
The PS3 is good, but I found there's less games available plus they tend to cost a little bit more..... so I ended up buying a new 360 as well.
If its gaming your into then id stick with the 360, even if you have to replace it again in three years time.. £150 for 3 years of fun is worth it :)

Thanks for all the advice, it's really helped me out, I think I will go for a 360 again - just going to wait for a hot deal! (_;)

if you do get a 360 get one of the slim ones, much better.

Or get a arcade 2009 model.

id rather that than xbox disallowing lots of updates.

the best console to get is often the one your mates have

ylod is not caused by lack of use if anything its the opposite. ive fixed 3 this week 2 were overused and one was just full of dust

personally i have both and i like both i own all consoles and handhelds out at the min in regards to graphics "samey games" such as call of duty look great on both consoles with very very small differences (lower/higher frame rates) ps3 exclusives in regards to graphics wipe the floor with xbox's. Before you all go nuts im just saying playstation's exclusives are graphically better because there not ported from the 360 to the ps3 they use the full potential of the playstations technology. When your talking about online im pretty sure the xbox is better. connects faster and doesn't seem to lose connection too often, but personally i hate having to fork out for playing online really grinds my gears. Xbox's media function's are woful the interface when fast forwarding on a .avi on the hard drive is like fast forward on a sh!tty durabrand dvd player from asda playstations is much easier you dont have to skip all the way through the avi either to get to a specific scene. Updates Xbox win here by a mile the games selction for the online is amazing huge xbl games selection, movies and features are regularly updated unlike sony's. What im trying to say is both consoles are great you need to decide what you want to do and find which one suits you best. If your only interest is Black Ops and multiplayers Online My advice is 360 all the way but if your looking for a all rounder id say Playstation. Or if your looking for a real mans machine id have to say Super Nintendo... O How i miss you DK Country 2
