He/She left my parcel on my doorstep! So it had been there for hours.

Yes, I realise it hadn't been nicked cos it was still there but surely that's not the point! Someone could have taken it & I would have just figured it was lost in the post.

It was my Kill Bill blu ray box set that someone was kind enough to post as a deal!

I wouldn't.

They probably thought they were doing you a favour saving you a trip going to the sorting office or waiting for it to be delivered.
#2
no i think thats wrong they should of left you a card...have a word with him/her next time so that it doesnt happen again :)
#3
it wasnt sent recorded? so the company you bought it from cant prove delivery?(cough):whistling:
#4
That has happened to me a few times. It does save me the trip to the post office which is always a bonus but they are not meant to leave it anywhere unless they have agreed it with you first. Leaving it on your doorstep does seem a bit silly! Anyone could have taken it, they should at least have hid it somewhere. I would ring them just to say can they please not do it again.

lots leave parcels at the door at this time of year xxx

You would have whinged if they HADN'T delivered it! Just be happy you've got it! If it had been nicked you'd have been covered anyway so there's no problem!
#7
Yeah, doing you a favour. Backfires though when they leave a MATHMOS branding covered box on my doorstep, filled with my replacement original lamp. I know it was nicked, because I saw the postie leave it on the step, by the time I'd turned the car around and got parked again, it was gone. Who was to blame then?? COMPLAIN. They aren't doing what they should be. They always put my signed for delivery things straight through the letter box - someone has paid extra for the 'signed for' bit - I think that's fraud. I certainly haven't signed for it.

that dalmation has been sitting on your doorstep for 3 days-take it inside before it dies of the cold.

I wouldn't. They'll wonder what the hell you were having delivered that was worth nicking over everything else in the house.

I had an xbox 360 left round the side of my house before (not postman and fully visable to the road) I didn't sign for it - Nor did I complain.. I had it in one piece didn't I?

Same, except it was a £450 DSLR. Amazing that Amazon didn't send it recorded, just plain old Royal Mail.

Definitely complain.

You got lucky this time..... maybe not next time. Your postman acted irresponsibly with your property. Do you think he would leave his own property as vulnerable as he left yours?

Here's the number to the Chairmans Office. 0207 250 2888

I'd complain too,if the shoe was on the other foot and it was a private sale for example, the seller coiuld easily have been out of pocket if it had gone missing when they made a claim as they aren't always upheld by RM and it can be a right palava to sort it out.

I'm impressed, though I think there's one too many 8s in there somewhere. I had to check, thought you might have put the number in for the nearest dry cleaners...

I wouldn't complain, i'd say to him, "here leave my stuff out here again, and i'll be using your nackers as a door knocker" :)

LOL...he is now :-D

Thanks guys. Think I'll give them the benefit of the doubt this time & if I see my postie I'll have a quick word. Tis the season of good will after all :santa:

The postman was trying to do you a favour but if you aint happy have a word with him.
If you complain to Royal Mail next time you have a delivery expect it to go amiss.

Hows leaving it on the doorstep doing anyone a favour except himself,he doesn't have to lug it back to the PO:roll:

Dont complain. Surely you make mistakes in your job too? Or you bend the rules to help?

He got the delivery didnt he!
Saved him having to wait longer for the delivery and saved him having to arrange collection himself, anyways you dont know if any1 could see his doorstep, could be enclosed and nowhere in view.

The point is RM are not allowed to leave it anywhere, not even with a neighbour.

If i pay to have an item delivered then that's what i expect,i don't expect the postie to dump it on a doorstep
banned#33
Just try and speak directly with the postie and explain you would always prefer a card through the door. He probably thought he was doing you a favour so should have no problem accepting your alternative instructions.

just going over his head to the boss is OTT imo.

so you'd like all your parcels dumped on your doorstep and if they get nicked then thats ok?
