He may have genuinely lost it. If his feedback is good then give him the benefit of the doubt.

yeh i agree, maybe the seller is being truthful and cant find it. I think neg would be a bit harsh tbh :)

I won a dvd recently and it was for aroun 99p I think - well I got email saying they had a flood and that dvd got damaged but I knew fine and well its cause got sold for so little and they were annoyed at that.

They were a new seller..........................so OP if they are a regular on ebay then I would give positive but if they are new......then I think they have cancelled as unhappy at what it sold for

thanks for the advice everyone :) x

you can't give negative to a buyer anymore can you? think i'm just going to give no feedback what so ever. just looked at their feedback profile and they already have a few negatives and a couple of neutrals and they haven't sold that much....

anything other than positive is harsh.

Yea you didn't get your item but in the end of the day you got your money back!

I only negative feedback if I got scammed etc

Well this shows them for what they are NEG THEM and help other buyers and hopefully ebay will ban them.

neutral as you got a refund, but not positive as it sound like they have done this before
#22
give this person the benefit of the doubt. They might have lost it.It does happen. You got a refund so they aren't trying to scam you.

Positive was never a option as in "should i leave neutral or negative feedback"

unless of course their other negs and neutrals all say 'seller 'lost' dvd after i won it at a good price'

definately not a positive, feedback is supposed to be a reflection of how the whole sale went, are you happy? No. Then don't leave a positive.

I'd definitely give positive feedback on this one if the seller gives you a refund, just write in the feedback, "seller lost the item but gave a full refund." Negative feedback should only be issued when you are scammed really or the postage takes an incredibly long time. At the end of the day you win some, you lose some and accidents do happen. Put yourself in the sellers shoes for a second, your a fantastic seller but you unfortunately lose or break an item before being able to dispatch it, you inform the buyer and offer a full refund apologising for the inconvenience and the buyer still leaves negative feedback tarnishing his/hers record over one silly error. Mistakes happen sometimes.

Yes but if you read other comments they were telling him to leave positive! lol

I'd leave a neutral.

Since it's a DVD it probably had free post so if it sold for a low price the seller might think its not worth while completing the sale and make up an excuse. If he does this a few times and gets positives for it then other buyers viewing his feedback get a false impression of his performance as a seller.

Negging him could be a bit harsh since there's always a slim chance he's telling the truth.

As a side issue, Ebay's policy of forcing free postage on DVD sales makes them hardly worth the bother.
Bad policy Ebay...remove it.

Read the ebay discussion boards. This sort of stuff goes on all of the time, usually when an item sells too cheaply. Neg him and file a Non Performing Seller report too.
It's this sort of stuff that gives ebay a bad name,

its really annoying when i try my hardest to be a good seller on there and some ppl just can't be bothered, for example i always have the items packaged up as soon as the listing starts. i just can't understand how you can loose something you've listed, surely you'd put it in a safe place??!!!

I cannot believe people on here some say leave a positive feedback :w00t:

Op, give us the item number so we can see the sellers feedback.
