Should I Jump From A Plane?

Some of you guys are aware (although not as many as I'd have liked becuase the thread got pulled) that I held a charity day at our Photo Studio a few week back, needless to say we didnt get anywhere near the numbers we'd expected. and will probably only raise around £200-£300 for our charity of choice.

I stupidly (becuase I'm all mouth) agreed to a bet that if we didnt reach £1000 on the day I'd do a parachute jump in the charities honour, now its come back to haunt me, I even mentioned it to the woman of said charity who just this second has forwarded me all the info I need........ THANKS!

Ok so this thread seems pretty irrelevant now becuase I HAVE to do it, a bets a bet and its for a good cause.

Anyone else done this act of lunacy and lived and can describe it for me?

for gawds sake dont forget your parachute, and have a great day

My hubby has done quite a few parachute jumps, just for fun - he says it's brilliant. Training, up in plane, balance on spar, jump, untangle ropes if necessary, ENJOY!!!

(Wild horses couldn't persuade me.)

well.. i can only say that once you have done it you will understand why birds sing.. have fun and well done for all your charitable work.

I said parachute jump..... and assuming that the parachute wouldnt have time to open if I jumped off a grounded plane, so technically speaking I dont think I can use that to get out of it.

on a seperate note its better than my last effort, 2 weeks ago I was bored and set up a group on facebook, if I got 1000 members in a weekend I'd do micheal jacksons thriller dance in nothing but a pink thong (I was combining haloween and think pink day) seriously..... check facebook lol

might not be helping but apparently the impact on landing is the same as jumping off a 10 ft wall

I would rather lick the sweat off BG1 than jump out of a perfectly good plane, but fair play to you for having a big mouth and doing it LOL

I've done four jumps.

You will be fine until the moment you suit and and the dawning of what you are about to do. That'll intensify when they tell you "to the door". In a act of lunacy, you'll jump because you dont want to appear a wimp.

Once out - its the most fantastic feeling in the world.

I'm quite envious to be honest!. (The club I joined went bankrupt on the day I was going for my 5th jump. Had intended on doing freefall - but wasnt to be.)

ok seems like a lot of you want to do this or have done ths and would consider again, if you can raise £395 in sponsorship money you can do it free - so if you want to do it get others to pay for it while supporting a great cause, PM me your email address and I'll send you the forms over.

I've done a static line parachute jump (i.e. on your own), personally I found it a great experience although doing it from a little Cesena (typo) and having to climb and hang off a strut under the wing was a bit daunting.

Would defo recomend it, its a great experience and you will be raising money for a charity at the same time.

LOL... The training was free when I did it (via sponsorship) and each jump thereafter was about £12!

Only annoyance for me in the whole thing....

The first jump from a Cesna, I went to quick and never got a photo. (My mates were 2 and 3 - and they all did!) Then they changed the plane to a British Islander - which just literally had a big whole in the side of it and no place to mount the camera. So never did get a picture of any of the jumps - and the certificate was pants!
