I'm a huge Arsenal fan and I really wanted to watch the champions league clash tomorrow night and organised prime seats at a really plush bar with my friends but I've also been chasing show tickets for over a year and managed to get hold of some.

I've now managed to get 2 tickets to the Graham Norton show, which is on at the same time and I won't be able to get back in time to catch the remainder of the match and my gf isn't going to be able to make it (which is the main reason why I was trying to get these tickets) but one of my friends is up for it too.

I think Graham Norton is so funny but I love Arsenal.....which do you reckon I should opt for?

EDIT: The results are in post 35

Lol, I would of bought tickets if I knew what I was doing but I'm more of a day to day man at the moment. :giggle:

Like I said though, we've got really nice seats at a plush bar to watch the game and I normally never miss an Arsenal match...but at the same time, I've never been to a show either. :)

Depends who Norton's guests are.

I went to one of these once (a Clive Anderson chat show) and it was Geena Davis.

Good point, I didn't think of that.....how do I findout who the guests are......other than while we're in the queue? :p

That's how it normally operates but I always reserve seats, so we can get the best couches right infront of the 10ft projector screen with HD.....it's definitely more comfy vibe. :)

I've been a huge fan for ages, I've gone to quite a few games over the last couple years at the Emirates and gonna try and get some tickets for the Hull match, plus I've gone on the Legendary tour and hardly missed a televised match in about 10 years.

At least someone noticed. lol

I had to send my laptop in to get repaired after I couldn't get past the blue screens but I think I became used to not using the internet during the time and have hardly been on prior to today. :)

So what comes before footy in your opinion then? :giggle:

No mate, I'm not going to watch Ledley King bitch about his knee again....I'm going to watch something a bit more entertaining. ;-)

Get them to watch the footy as well then.....then it's win win.....if they choose to ignore the footy, then I think an adoption agency visit may be in order. lol

I love footy....Arsenal are one of the most entertaining teams in the world and I have a feeling Roma will try and make the game a bit more boring.

Btw, the show states:

"The host is joined by actors Greg Kinnear, who talks about starring in romantic comedy Ghost Town alongside Ricky Gervais, and Ruth Jones, co-writer of the award-winning comedy Gavin & Stacey. Plus, the usual mix of monologues and eccentric characters"

arshavin :?

Just because he shaves his ass, doesn't mean he's gay.......loads of footy players shave their armpits and chests among other things, doesn't mean they're gay......oh wait.....doesn't Cashley Cole also fit into this mould......except he's not funny, other than when he makes out he's a playa.

I'm really passionate about footy but I might see if someone can record it for me and avoid all results until I can watch the game or just watch the highlights somehow since I don't have Sky anymore. :)

I'm glad you wash mate....I'm not surprised your gf has set you these high standards. :giggle:

hahahaha, believe it or not......I actually thought about that as soon as I checked out the other thread and was going to say something but I thought it would be better to avoid mentioning it otherwise you'd assume I REALLY was hitting on you. lol

If my friend can't make it to the show, do you want top come along, as I will have a spare ticket...we can even pretend it's not a date? :giggle:

I hope my gf doesn't read any of this. lol

What if Graham Norton is interviewing someone near me with his typical subjects, which can brush along sex and then when he talks about what happens when you enter from the rear entrance and I scream out "GOAL!!!, that's a goal, I knew we'd score" lol

I don't need to go to those kinda shows to keep it up all night.......I assure you. ;-)

P.S before DangerGod replies, I'm not hitting on you either....and I swear I'm straight....even though I'm not doing a good job of proving it today. lol

THE RESULTS

Now that the event is over, I'll tell you what happened.

I decided to watch Graham Norton and the London Eye is only down the road from the studio, so we planned on watching the remainder of the Arsenal match at a bar along the Thames, so we expected the catch the second half.

I arrived over an hour before the doors even opened but I was informed that I can't hold a spot for my friend, so I decided to wait for him by Imax, since it's closeby anyway.
People that know me, know that I'm usually a little late for everything but for once, I was actually early (I say for once but I've been doing it a lot lately but my gf did say she was going to change that about me and she's now achieved this without even trying lol) but my friend made me wait for over an hour.

By the time we joined the queue, there was a good few hundred people infront of us and moments after, there were a further 50+ people behind us, so I thought we would all struggle to get in.

After waiting in the queue for over an hour (more than half hour after the doors were supposed to close) we were unfortunately turned away, as they ran out of seats but we'd receive priority for any future shows we want to attend.

We then decided it weren't all bad because we could watch the Arsenal match from start and I did want to watch the game anyway but once we got into the bar, my friend didn't want to pay bar prices for food on top of the drinks (i.e £9 for burger and chips) and don't worry, I made him feel bad for making me miss our Graham (don't remind me I said that in the future lol) so he was covering the drinks as compensation.

So we went to McD's at the entrance of the complex but apparantly they just closed.....I've never heard of McD's closing before 7:30 before, so we started walking all around Waterloo looking for somewhere for a quick bite before the match starts and we walked around in circles for ages....I saw the Imax roundabout at least 4 times in one evening. lol

After Quickly having a subway, we rushed back to watch the game (I asked the bar tenders if they were planning on showing the Arsenal match beforehand and they told me not to worry because they're Arsenal fans too, so it'll definitely be on) and were horrified to see that they have at least a dozen screens all over the place and they were all showing the Man Utd game, which apparantly was the managements decision. :x

So we went looking for a bar for ages, as they were all showing the Man Utd match (I think that proves that a lot of United fans are glory hunters that London pubs and bars have to resort to showing a team that's about 200 miles away instead of the London team) and eventually we found a place, which was completely packed out...and we had to stand for about 2 hours.

I ended up losing my voice as well because I was celebrating so much infront of an italian fan who was showing off for ages when we missed a penalty. lol

Moral of the story.....don't ever put your team second for anything and stick to your original plans...AND don't let your friend be a cheapskate :giggle:
