I'm not sure if this is the right section, but I'm thinking of selling off my Canon kit. I have a old Canon 1D, and a few kit lens like EF F2.8 24-70mm L series and 70-200mm telephoto lens.

The body goes at about 350 quid on ebay, the lens are each about 500 to 600 quid there, can anyone suggest whether I should sell it off? I'm sadly less interested in photography than when I got them originally, and want to move back to something more portable; everyday, the camera kit loses about 0.5 pounds in value, and keeping them seem unnecessary.

Can anyone give me some advises about where and how to sell?

sounds like you should sell them, you're not using them, they're still work a decent amount of money and I assume they're selling on ebay quite well.

Sell it off and use the cash to buy yourself something that suits your needs better, whats the point in having it sitting about not being used?

Right thanks for the tip, though are there any places other than Ebay for it? I've only bought from there, and know little about selling there...

I'd imagine there are user forums for Canon owners, you could try on some of those. If you're on Flickr try finding canon owners groups, join them and stick an advert there too. I'm not sure if theres a specific site for selling camera equipment, though I could be wrong.

You could also stick an advert on here, there seems to be quite a few members who're photographers.

If you do decide to post on here, just beware there are lots of people that try and get something for nothing.

I think I'm due for at least a upgrade, while 1D is excellent in many ways, I'd like something more compact. What I'm going to do is sell the body and a tele lens first, then hopefully pick up a good condition 5D.
