last year - £327.18
this year - SIX HUNDRED AND BLOODY EIGHTY ONE POUNDS AND FIVE FLIPPING PENCE!!!
no accidents, no claims, no nothing, just rang them to ask if they are indeed having a laugh, apparently not, what price loyalty eh, looks like its go compare and a bottle of wine for me tonight, robbing barstools, *place finger and thumb together, close eyes and breathe*

Was last year your first year with them? This happens to me EVERY year, that's why I change EVERY year.

Neat tip: Use the postcode and address of a neighbour you particularly dislike along with a fake name when using GoCompare, then use TCB to claim your cashback. Saves all sorts of junk mail and marketing rubbish collecting on your doormat.

Yes, they hook you first year with a cheap quote then up it the next year. If you want to stay with them, get a quote elsewhere then ring their cs and tell them you've been offered better elsewhere but will stay if they beat the quote you found.

Yup, good call. I actually lied when I said I changed EVERY year. Last year I acually stayed with Admiral because they dropped their renewal by 500 when I did exactly this.

Aviva were the cheapest for me on my last renewal (when including the £70 quidco cashback promotion they were running at the time), I'm not sure if they show up on price comparison websites either?

Don't forget to factor in quidco when searching as a lot of companies give good returns.
(aviva currently £30)

thanks, the bulk of my quidco comes from insurance, last year halifax were my second cheapest by £10 but took a punt as cashback was £40, paid off
