Should I be worried? (Amazon delivery related)

Evening people.

I ordered a Samsung LE40C580 on Saturday from Amazon and chose express delivery. It's supposed to arrive tomorrow and I had a despatch email earlier today. The only thing is, is that the tracking information is very wrong. I live in Basildon, Essex but it says the destination is bakewell, Derbyshire. Not only that, but apparently it was "out for delivery" from Scunthorpe on 11/12/2010. And I only ordered it last Saturday. So should I be worried that they've got the incorrect delivery address or is it just a glitch on the site?

Please someone settle my mind.

Thanks.

I'd be more worried you live in Basildon.

I've lived here my whole life so I'm very used to it. Believe it or not, I actually like it here. There's no place like home.

As long as you entered all your details correctly into Amazon, it's their fault - let them deal with it. Don't worry.

Yeah the delivery address on the order is correct, but I took tomorrow off work, so if it doesn't come, I'm going to be very annoyed.

Because If it is wrong, Amazon can't do anything about it now as it's out for delivery can they?
And I couldn't get through to City Link because they're useless.
So I posted on here just in case anyone else had experienced the same thing but still received their item.

Read what I wrote above. I do actually try the obvious first you know. Some people are so unhelpful. Don't bother posting in my thread mate.

But you didn't, you never contacted amazon.

They would have a hell of a better chance of getting though to citylink than you appeared to have and as amazon are generally pretty decent customer service wise I'm also quite sure they would've been able to sort it any problems there may or may not be.

Now though your going to be sitting in all day refreshing a delivery page wondering what is going on when a simple call or email to amazon would've put your mind at rest one way or another.

Read it again. I never said I contacted Amazon. I said, there wouldn't be much they could do because it's already been shipped. I said I tried to contact City Link but I couldn't get through to them.

Some people are so ridiculous. You included.

You should read what I wrote again.

I know you never contacted amazon as that was the whole point of what I wrote. Sometimes I despair at the sheer stupidty and general lack of common sense of my fellow man.

I guess he could of been trying to find out if this a common problem and it'll actually turn up on time. For example saying an order is on its way to ireland and it arrives the next day. (im sure I've seen that around)

Mate, I posted this thread to see if anyone had experienced the same issue and still had there item delivered as normal. I didn't post it for annoying people who clearly don't want to provide any help on the matter. Seeing as you're really unhelpful, do you mind going away. Thanks :)

That was my exact intention in creating this thread. I obviously didn't make that clear enough in my opening post.

I'm being helpful, PHONE AMAZON.

It's the only definitive way that your going to know if taking a day off work tomorrow has been a waste of time. You will 100% not get any indication on whether or not your delivery arrives tomorrow from anyone on here.

Believe it or not i had this problem with amazon and with a 40" samsung tv as it goes ( havent got a clue which model mine is) this was while all the snow was on.I found it helpful to check city links own website for more up-to-date tracking rather than amazon. It was out for delivery several times but didn't arrive. When i looked the destination was another part of the area i live in, which made me question if some how it was going to my old address, but i checked it wasnt. It ended up coming to the right address, but tracking wasnt good on it.

I would ring them though if unsure, when i tried City link were 'too busy to answer my call' apparently. Although it was the few days before xmas.

One of my parcels was said to be en route to Ireland but it turned up ok on time.
See here.

Thank you Jumpingphil :) Much appreciated.

Did it turn up?

Nope. Phoned Amazon and they said I've been given the wrong tacking information and City Link was having some delays. She guaranteed that it'd be here today. It better because I've had to take another bloody day off work.

pretty obvious you should have rung amazon and ask for the correct tracking info as others suggested. The fact you chose to ignore and even slate their advice cost you a day off work

lesson learnt I suppose

I would ask for the delivery charges to be refunded as well

I have had the delivery charges refunded. And yes, it did cost me a day off work but not because of my ignorance. I would of had to have a day off anyway.
