I've just moved house and need to replace the shower as it a pidly little electric thing (worse than something you'd see in a caravan!).

I'm going to have it run off the combi boiler but am stuck on what make/model of shower to buy. Do you have any recommendations - Mira, Aqualisa, Bristan, etc?

Thanks for your help :)

i would be interested in any answers on this. My electric shower is rubbish, I need to run around to get wet in it. Last winter I got a combi boiler put in and someone said get a shower to run off that idea but will see what this thread brings!
Misleading title.............lost interest................i'm out. ;-)

i am trying to finish my house extension and doing bathroom now, i will be running shower via mixer tap and shower, not really bothered about make. this is straightforward to fit.
Although I cannot speak for the others, I know that Mira make fantastic and reliable showers, and of the all the people I have recommended them to, none have regretted their decision :)
Electric showers are rubbish, get a shower running off a shower pump, far hotter for winter months and doesn't drizzle out.
you need a power shower runs off combi galaxy are good showers
but got mine for £145 from
ive got one great
If you have a combi boiler you no longer need a hot water cylinder or cold water tank as the water comes straight off the mains. Therefore both your cold and hot water will be at mains pressure. We have a basic bath mixer tap with shower attachment and the shower pressure is better than a power shower. You don't need anything more fancy than that, but get a good quality shower head and you'll have everything and more that an expensive shower will give you.
bossyboots for your info, i've gone for a Mira Element Mixer Shower (approx £170 inc vat). My plumber recommended a Mira and after reading the reviews this one scored really well. Some posted that when theirs broke, Mira sent out their own engineer who repaired/replaced it free of charge under the warranty (5 years with this model).
