It's been a long time since we last visited the city - 15 years BC ( before children!)

Back then we used the metro and wallked everywhere but that may be a bit daunting with two youngish kids in tow.

In London we have used the open top bus tours which they loved and were pretty informative.

Does anyone know if there is a similar operation in Paris please?

I've read about the boat buses so that is one idea.

Thanks

I've taken this bus tour several times and have been happy with it. It takes you around all the main sites and is a suitable length. Are you flying with Ryanair? If so, one of the stops for the bus tour is just a 10-15 minute walk from where the Beauvais bus drops you off. :)

There is only one solution, get day passes for the river boat!

When we went last October, it cost us about 12euros per adult (not sure about children), but it's brilliant. They run every 15 minutes or so, stop at ALL of the major sites, and you can jump on and off as you please.

Also, the Metro is really good and very cheap compared to our underground, you can buy books of ten journeys for 11 euros.

One other thing, if you intend to go in all the museums etc, they do charge, so could prove quite a costly exercise. You can get a ParisPass which gets you into everything, but that is also pretty expensive.

not sure it'll be where i'd bring my kids (if i had any)
depends on the children too and how demanding they are eg. near food, toilet, attention span

yep id go for the river boat day pass too, there is a covered area for them, but to be fair the metro was fine last year, very clean and efficient to get to other areas of the city, the eiffel tower is a must

there were loads of kids using the metro with their arents when we were there,

we were there last month-the buses are good-but expensive 29 euros each and 15 euros for each child (9 and 3).

We walked down the Champs Elysees from the Arc de Triumphe to the Obylisc (not sure how you spell it !), and from there along the Seine to the Eiffel Tower-it was about half an hour for each walk.

You would see loads more with the bus-but my kids would have switched off after 10 minutes and been asking questions about something like pokemon so we would have missed out too ! Your kids might have longer attention spans !

Many thanks for the advice peeps.

Still slightly undecided.

Would take the
