and always make sure you wear that yellow and black tape when sat on the track so the driver can avoid you

I would say an ideal chair is one with 4 legs

Get to the track very early & make sure you're sat in front of a large screen so you know what's going on - we got there at 9am once and there weren't many places left with a good view. Take a soft cushion in case you end up sitting on the grass.

get one of the collapsable ones that cost around a fiver from the cheap shops, they fold up in a bag and go over your shoulder, they are fine for the time you need it but I can assure you that you will struggle to find a place to pitch it unless you are there early....dont get tempted with the litlle three legged things.. they are ****.
As the other guy says, a screen is vital cos that PA will tell you next to nothing once the cars string out and drown it out. Take some binoculars to read the screen and check whats going on...

Have you not got a map with your tickets, we did when we went. The map usually shows where the large screens are, and also you can guage where to get the best view. We sat at Copse corner, we could see the cars coming round three bends from there and looked straight at a TV. Would advice one of those folding camping chairs, and a large plastic sheet in case of rain.

The year we went it rained solidly all day, we started off fairly high up the high but by the end of the race had slid all the way to the bottom in the mud.

Be aware that people start queing from about 5.30 to get in and then all leg it to get the best spot. Also, when we were there loads of people squeezed in front at the very last minute and stood up the whole race so don't expect to just sit and watch cos if you leave a space for standing, someone will do it and block your view!!!

Hope that helps.

Edit: We also took a radio cos you can't hear the commentary once the race starts.

Are you driving? Make sure you know what is going on with the A43 because it becomes a nightmare after about 07:00 with it being closed partially.. we parked by Buddies in Towcester and biked...fun to go past people stuck in traffic trying to get in.

The banks just before Hangar Straight were alright - although they'll fill up very quickly.

The cars sound very different in real life, so bring a pair of earplugs just in case lol.

Has anyone had any experience with Kangaroo TV? They keep talking about it during the practice sessions - rentable TVs with the 5Live commentary.

Hopefully the weather forecast is wrong. Just checked 14 day forecast showing rain for the whole week before the race, race day not quite so bad!
Pack your wellies and raincoat!!
