EA Play today announced their intentions to bring last year's best-selling, seminal PC game The Sims 3 to our Xbox 360's this Autumn/Fall.

EA's Executive Producer Sam Player explained nothing about his awesome name, but he did say that “We’re bringing players the best console game for The Sims franchise to date and are excited to offer a unique experience for all types of gamers on their platform of choice. Building on the unique traits system, living open neighborhood, lifetime wishes, and endless customization options, we’ve tailored each platform of The Sims 3 with exclusive features to allow for even more control, creativity, and connectivity.”

In The Sims 3, players will be able to create Sims with unique personalities, fulfill their desires…or not, and control their lives within a living neighborhood. Additionally, all-new features make it easier than ever to mess with life as players can unlock the ultimate “Karma Powers” for instant control and unleash them on their Sims. Players can help their Sim “get lucky,” bless them with “instant beauty” or be deviant and curse them with an “epic fail.” But players should use these powers wisely—they may have unexpected results and karma may come back to bite.

Rich, immersive gameplay is complimented with a seamlessly integrated exchange system on the Xbox 360 platform where gamers will be more connected than ever before as they design, build, and share their creations and download content from other players around the world without ever leaving the game. Facing short and long term challenges, players will reap rewards and trophies and can even share achievements with friends by connecting to Facebook.

Personally, I've always been a huge fan of The Sims series, but found that my almost archaic, Windows XP-running computer lacked the power to run The Sims 3 properly, so definitely psyched to see it get a console release. Using Xbox Live to play too has masses of potential, both in terms of DLC and all the customisation abilities mentioned above, but also being able to interact with your friend's Sims and houses and the like could offer endless amounts of hilarity. Plus, it'll have achievements which automatically makes it better than the PC version, right?

Except they are screwing us again because you need to buy it new to get a special code that lets you share content online.

Typical EA, seem to be doing that with every game now. If you must there are always codes on ebay depends how much you want it though
