Ray Mysterio rip-off, but very epic acrobatics. Loved the super hurricanrana (sp?).

Each to his own but I just don't get wrestling as a viewing spectacle, it's just to staged and cheesy. i am always suprised by the amount of grown men in the crowds lapping it up.

Despite the comments, still think he's kinda unique. Even my Mexican friend (where all these guys originate from) say's he's the best yet.

Just because Rey is the most over Lucha Libre star there's been in the WWE it doesn't mean every subsequent Luchador should be labelled as a rip-off

Watch the WWE documentary: Beyond the Mat. It shows you to what extent it is staged.

I struggle to get to grips with grown men watching this crap. Anyone who believes it's anything other than a soap opera with a starring cast of spandex touting steroid crazed freaks is delusional.

To shuwaz - I'm pretty sure said documentary would be entirely unbiased in it's content...

I personally find parts of it impressive. They are serious athletes, yes the 'fighting' isn't real, nor the outcome. But you have to respect the work they do, the training, commitment, travelling around the country etc. etc.

I see it as a soap opera, badly written at the moment, but a soap opera. If you get two good wrestlers they can tell a story in the ring.

But you have your opinion, which is highly unlikely to change, so each to their own.

Beyond the mat is definitely worth a watch, I suppose it is biased, but most documentaries are. Gives a good insight into the 'inner workings'

I know these guys have to workout a lot to get the physique required to do this 'job' - but then so do many other sportsmen and women - it's just they manage (on the whole) to get into shape without the need for roids - I can't call anyone who cheats a 'serious athlete' to be honest.

I used to watch it as a kid - pre-14 or so - and it was cool then, because it was pure fantasy.

I just struggle to comprehend adults enjoying it.

Not saying it doesn't go on anymore, but the 'wellness policy' took a lot of steroid abuse out of the industry, and with the Benoit incident a few years back they've been hot on it.

Problem is there's only 10/20 guys who make the top tier, big money, reduced schedule etc. so everybody wants to be them, unfortunately many see steroids as a way to the top. I disagree completely, some of my favourite wrestlers have been smaller people.

I don't see how people like cricket, yes it's a real sport, (with no cheating of course ;) ) but seriously it's boring. Not saying you like cricket, just using it as an example.

Problem is that many wrestling fans are idiots. Which doesn't really help the perception that non fans have :D

LOL @ cricket.

I know what you mean. I enjoy cricket, but only the highlights (even the 20/20 world cup).
I only watch live cricket when I am doing something and dont mind having it on in the background (but hey, thats not very often).

Its filmed in America the majority watching are either inbred, unbelievely stupid, white trash or a combination of the three.

Not sure about adults over here, I personally don't know anyone over the age of 11 who's into wrestling, maybe they haven't heard of UFC and still believe in father christmas?

I dont watch wrestling that often and if I do I dont view it as a sport (unless its MMA). Its more of a TV entertainment show. The way the Rock makes fun of people and other comments wrestlers come out with in interviews is hilarious...

You'd be lucky to find anything decent less than a decade old. Wrestling actually had some appeal then - now it's aimed squarely at the under-12s.

The strange thing is that back in the day when you had slightly risque material, you actually had better female characters. There were characters with a tiny bit of psychological complexity who had things like 'motives' and half-decent lines. It wasn't Shakespeare, but it was at least slightly less embarrassing to admit to watching.

Now it's like getting caught in bed with a blow-up Justin Bieber doll.

I like wrestling, i know its not real, but it entertains me, that's all the matters.
i've been watching it for about 15 years now ,Sure there are alot of moments that are pretty boring, but its a show and i enjoy most it so i dont really care what other people think of it.
Why bother watch a film or a TV series as they aren't real either.

I tried watching UFC, but found it too boring, same with boxing.

I was lucky enough to stay in the same hotel as WWE when they came on their November tour last year. Most of them are great to the fans, some aren't.

Anyway on topic im going to bet that we might get Sin Cara vs Rey at WM28

I kind of lost interest in it as i got older. There was a period where it was fun to just watch the likes of Stone Cold and the Rock doing the promos. As a spectacle it can be quite entertaining. There are worse TV shows to watch. However, men who watch Big brother, x-factor, soaps and property programs are bigger losers than those who watch wrestling. In terms of sport people who watch boxing and UFC are just Neanderthals and people who watch cricket, snooker or darts need to have a long hard look at themselves.

Not even going to comment on how tragic it is to watch marathons, sailing or cycling.

On topic:
From the video he just looks like some bog standard lucha wrestler. Most of the moves looked the same. There was no great variety.
