Anyone know if its possible to somehow retrieve the Singstar songs we purchased on the old PS3, to get them onto the new machine? The Singstore says we cant re-download them because they were assigned to another machine. It was like £45 worth and the old PS3 died of a fault. Is it worth calling the Sony helpline? Thanks :o)

Obviously worth calling them, better than waiting for the usual conflicting replies and rubbish you'll get on here:thumbsup:

TBH I don't know why people post questions like this when the only way you'll get a 100% correct answer is to call them personally!

Well I No If You Download From The Ps3 Store You Can Download Them Again If Your Machine Dies Upto 5 Times But You Still Need To Use Your Old User I.d.

Yes there is a number to call and they get them sent back over to your singstar store for you to download again. We just had to do that with ours takes about 48 hours for them to email you instructions and transfer it over.

01635 869500 (Alternative for 0870 5111999 - Goes to Switchboard - Ask for Customer Services)

01923 653598 (Alternative for 0870 5998877 - Ask for Customer Services)

I couldn't find the number on the website, it just appeared to have a vast Q&A section going on, so sorry, did I take up 2 inches of space on HUKD Misc that could've been spent on precious HMV code requests, I'll think twice before asking anything again.

Go to the Sony Playstation Website
Go to PS3 Support
Go to FAQs
search on 'contact' give you this page.

It's not rocket science, you just need to know how to navigate search pages. Had you said you couldn't find the page online, I would have happily sent you a link.

Thank you for the links, I have no idea why I didn't come across that myself last night, though I would have responded to you in a nicer tone had you not sounded so offended by what I now realise is my obvious lack of rocket science standard knowledge ;-) Anyway, what's wrong with trying to find out if anyone else has had experience of this with a successful outcome, before going through the customer service route? It's a personal choice and if you didn't like it, you shouldn't really had commented on the post, it just aggravates people which I find baffling sorry.

Because the solution you are looking for may have factors which are personal to your own case - others giving you their experiences doesn't inform you of anything more than anecdotes and eventually you'd probably need contact Sony, even if it was to implement a solution.

What aggravates people on here more is people asking questions which can be easily searched online or by calling the relevent company - it just looks like the person is being lazy.

All I know is that when someone on here has an issue and I have experience of that issue, then I try to help, so maybe why that is why I expect it to be okay when I ask something myself, and I thought I was pretty clear on what my issue was here and also gave brief details. But I can see your point, and seeing as I posted quite late last night and after a glass of wine or two, maybe my judgement was skewed slightly and I was too quick to panic after realising Total Eclipse of The Heart was gone. Forgiven? :friends:
