Not sure if this is possible however, I have sky multiroom at my house with sky + downstairs and extra box in other upstairs bedroom. However I have no telephone input thingy in my room to plug sky in , can i get an extension cable from the other room and get a cable from this box to the other one? Sorry if it was a bit confusing!

from the satellite outside

The telephone is just for ordering box office, etc and online games

Whatt! , So if i go and buy a sky box off here. It automatically picks signal off the satelite without being plugged in? Meaning i can watch freeview channels?

yeah, totally correct. But you need a viewing card to get basic functions of the box and a package to get the other channels

Right, so how much would a viewing card cost me? And what you mean a package? I already have sports downstairs and up etc

your best bet is to get multiroom at £10 per month. That will extend your package to another box. You can pay a 'one off' fee of £20 for the freeview card from sky

Ohhh, so if i dont get multiroom i wont get sports etc, if i dont have a viewing card what channels will i get? Also if i do get a viewing card what will it give me?:)

Some confusing answers on here, you do need a feed from the dish plugged in to any Sky Receiver, it will not work without one, you do not need a telephone line connected, only requirement is to have one connected to Multiroom at all times.

You may well not need a phone line with most Sky packages, however you certainly do need one with Multiroom, Sky will take you to court if you don't comply, they are very strict about Multiroom for obvious reasons.

That seems very hit or miss. I know one member here that has multi-room without a phone connection and gets a way with it. And I thought that if they try to get a phone out from the box which fails, they just bill you for 2 subscriptions (and not take you to court as suggested).

Edit.... Oi - you just changed your post!!! (And I concur with what you say in the new one!)

Sorry about that, I didn't read the OP properly.;-)

The sky box needs to be plugged in to a telephone line for a year after you renew/change a contract. They reserve the right to cancel your subscription if they can't reach your box.
