I vaguely remember having a similar problem with my Sky and it was due to the ADSL filter (you get 2 little white splitter thingys with the router). Have you got this plugged in? If not, try plugging that in the main phone point in your house and connect the router there.

That worked for me!

I'm no techie so can't give any real technical advice!

Basically, I had put the filter on the master socket and then from that there was another splitter which ran to a second socket near where I wanted the router. I then put a second filter on that socket and got the same problem you describe. So my signal was going through two filters. After some mucking around, I figured out what I'd done and changed my set up accordingly.

It may be worth trying your router plugged in to the master socket with the ADSL filter supplied by Sky and see if this works? Then it's just a process of elimination.

Just another thought and it may sound daft, but have Sky definately activated your internet yet? When I moved house, I had Sky Talk and Broadband fitted. The engineer came and connected my phone line, I recieved my router in the post a couple days later, but my internet wasn't activated until a couple of weeks after that. You should have recieved a letter from them with a commencement date and if you did, has that passed yet?

Have you had a look in the router log - if its the netgear one, it should tell you what is happening. I have had this happen to me a few times normally it is to do with the LCP failing where your router is not connecting to the sky network in your local exchange, The few times it has happen to me it comes back on its own, but try unplugging the router from the line and leave it switched off for 30 mins then try plugging it back in.
