Yeah we have just cancelled last week . Had the sky25 deal from last year and the broadband ... They offered £55 for 10 months then £106 for last 2 months . So in effect about £75 a month was best offer ..told them to stuff it . Oh and he offered to drop the BB by £5 a month if we stayed .. Knowing fine well they were putting it up by £4 a month in March .

Why not exercise your right to leave the contract early without penalty? That would also provide you with the opportunity to earlier benefit from another provider's joining incentives.

They are offering unlimited bb and line rental online , without sky tv, for £18.99 , 12 month contract .

Got an offer from sky this morning offering half price for 12 months to come back. I guess they must be anticipating losing customers.

It is for tv only, original bundle, whatever that means. They are offering it for £11.25 a month for 12 months, which is considerably better than half price if it is the same bundle I had, which was around £32.

I left them October last year.

Edit.. says it will save me £135 over a year, so it can't be the same bundle i had before.

Just been checking and it's not the same as i had before, which i think was the variety bundle. The original bundle they are offering looks rubbish, doesn't even seem to have Eurosport.

I had a call yesterday offering two months free and then £11.50 for the next 10 months. (original bundle).

I was told it's a rolling contract so can cancel anytime, but haven't received any confirmation email so I'm not holding my breath!

I was on the £100 credit and 60% off original bundle offer. Shame it's finished. :(

I just got a letter offering the same deal I turned down on the phone .! Sick of the yearly cancel / not cancel best offer scenario . but to be offered to knock £5 off BB but not be told it's going up £4 anyway ... Ex sky from now on methinks

It doesn't have a lot - not even the kids cartoon channels. I dont really watch a lot of live TV and only rejoined because I really missed the record and pause features!!

No they arent, only the big guys think they can get away with raising prices every 10 months; my ISP hasnt raised prices since before I joined them, 3 years ago. On a 1 month contract, I still pay £13 pm line rental and phone calls cost 5ppm to nearly anywhere in the world (15ppm to UK mobiles - but thats rip-off Britain for you).

You said it yourself, the MAIN providers; there are hundreds of small ISPs out there offering a decent service for a decent price; you just have to decide what is important, money or quality of service.

You can simply wave goodbye to Sky without early termination penalty.

I havent received notification of broadband rises though. Are we sure about these?

with talktalk prices are fixed for 18months :)

I went to Vodafone who don't charge for line rental only for your broadband package. And my speed now is 72mbps which was double what I was getting with BT. check out the Vodafone website and see what speed you can get.

I am with Aquiss, the BB is a lot more expensive than SKY, etc. because they dont hide the true cost in the phone charges. My TOTAL bill, BB, line rental, calls etc, is about £55 per month. But for that I get a premium service with no website blocking, no upload/download limits (true unlimited with no hidden FUD), very light traffic management during office hours (very light, hardly even noticeable most of the time).

Pings are pretty good as well, I often get close to the theoretical minimum ping to the game server in the US that I use (92-98ms - minimum possible ping is ~90ms)

Thing is I've never had a problem with Sky Fibre. So I don't know where else to go. I pay £37 for line rental, plus anytime calls, and unlimited fibre. Good pings too so gaming is good, plus there's never any traffic shaping, consistently get about 36 mbps

So how much do you pay? No line rental normally means they bump up the bb cost,

By law, line rental has to be included in the price now, Voda were just the first to do it - and do it LOUDLY.

The cheap BB is paid for by being ripped off for everything else, BT etc, charge £150-£180 for a new line, the actual BTOR cost is £60, BT charge a connection and termination fee on all calls (as do the other big players), so not only is the basic price 3x what some small providers charge, you are paying about 60-70p extra for each call. And you dont really get free calls, they charge £7+ per month more for line rental than the small providers manage. (word from a BT guy, their line rental will go up to £21 pm, later this year). That £7 equals 140 minutes to nearly anywhere in the world on the tariff I pay; then add the £6 they charge for that calls package..........

My call costs have never exceeded £1.50 per month, and that is only because my wife phones her mother in China for 5-10 minutes every few weeks.
