Sky broadband useage question

I installed a useage monitor for my broadband, im currently on 10GB a month. thought it best to be careful with their recent clampdown. But ive just realised.. its unlikely to be from the 1st to the 31st useage.. it will be from when you signed up.. does that sounds right?
i just queued on the phones to sky to ask, but gave up after 15 minutes.
I thought maybe i should base it on when the direct debit comes out for my sky package, as that includes the broadband cost..

i got an email which included the below.. dont really want to pay more for my broadband! doesnt look like they give you a choice either

We'll start contacting you by email if you go over your usage allowance, once to let you know you've gone over your allowance, and then again to let you know you're close to it in any subsequent month. If you use more than your allowance twice within a 6-month period we'll automatically upgrade you to Sky Broadband Unlimited, which gives you truly unlimited usage and will be more suitable for the way you use the internet.

Harsh to automatically upgrade you.

Surely they could just charge for what you use over your allowence

It's only £10 a month for unlimited.

BT charge me £1 for every GB I go over every month on top of the £15 a month I pay for broadband.

I know what you mean, if you have a crazy month then the bill will be a shock.

in our student house were with virgin media and they have different amount you can download at different times...its impossible to manage due to 4 of us in the house! So we just say no torrents going from 10am till 10pm, also means if were trying to work using the internet doesnt affect the service too much.

Then back at my house were with Be, the best ISP ive ever been with, no limits, no traffic management and well we get a speed quicker then stated! We pay for 8mb and we get upto 12mb quite often!

Then in our old apartment and my mum is now with sky with the 40gb limit i think it was, which was ok, its fine for my mum though she glads from the move from virgin
