Well you can get all the TV channels for free saving you £2.10 a month! You will have to get your own box though.

Why would relying on pirating sky TV via a replacement "box" make me mad?

I'd probably be jealous if you had more free TV film and sport channels than I have - but I think its a very safe bet you haven't.

I believe thats called theft?

I want 10 x cheaper than Sky too.....what a bargain. :w00t: I'd even relinquish my HD for that as it works out at pennies a week. :-D

They supply me all the channels if I pay them or not. So they are in fact donating them to me.:)

Well I wouldn't laugh too loudly. Virgin will be changing the encryption they use very soon making the box you have obsolete.

Good luck to you though. Makes no odds to me - just laughing at the "10 times cheaper" jibe.

2 years? Nah..... April this year I wont argue on though. But it will happen. They cant afford to let it carry on as it is.

Well they were thinking about changing to nagravision 2 back in 2006, so thats a couple of years ago.
However nagra2 is already hacked.
Also they will probably lose a lot of customers if they do knock all the boxes off, so it remains to be seen if they do anything.

Thought they were already on Nagra 2 - and it was Nagra 3 they were going to? (Like most satellite broadcasters.)

When sky was hacked, they very quick to counter it. I would imagine its more the logistics behind it (ie replacing the box or motherboard - or whatever they'd need to do) rather than worrying about losing non paying customers!

I believe they are still using nagra1 in almost all area's. To go to n2 would mean a new card, to go to n3 would mean either new boxes or cams for all customers (except possibly the 2110 boxes). The cost of that would be many millions (replacing the cards alone was reported to have an estimate of a few mill).
I suppose they will just weigh the pros and cons, if changing won't save them as much as it costs then theres not much point doing it.

Hmm. Not sure why you'd be so confident!

I wouldn't doubt Nagra 3 has been hacked - but there isn't anything out there yet to my knowledge that covers it.

I can only guess you've "covered it" by some other means?

Lol @ you lot arguing about TV providers. Also, guv, get over the fact that some people are gettinng it for free. You're so bitter with your 'ooh they're changing the encryption' remarks. Just forget it and enjoy your MurdochBox.
