Why the heck do I get charged when I have:
Line rental,
Broadband,
Sky Tv,
Sky Talk

I thought all calls to sky from a sky customer were free?

You're calling an 0844 number...they're never free. If you have line rental and calls from them then phone 150 from your handset. Thats what i do and it always works.

As long as its just a customer its fine....

I was sure calling an 0844 number to get to sky was free for sky people :(

I can't believe that, for calling them about a problem with their faulty equipment (under a year warranty) I still get charged a premium rate call

SHOCKING !!!

Yep its stupid but you tell them u want the money for that call to and it works. Actually emailing would prob be more sensible.

In my experience if you're calling them because of a problem they'll give you the money back. Just a pain in the bum contacting them to get it.

Hang on, just let me compose myself............

Yeah, emailing would be more sensible. Just don't expect a reply. I've lost count of the times I've emailed Sky and can't honestly remember ever getting a reply.

Or...phone 150? Works for me, i was told had to phone Sky Talk customer services on an 0844 number by an advisor who only dealt with TV, asked to be put through and she did.

I was told the call was free a while ago & got charged something like £8 as I was on the phone for over an hour to them sorting out my HD box!

If your problem is anything to do with failed recordings, then get used to it, we are now on our 4th box, which is now out of the warranty (was changed 3 times during warranty) & it's started again within the last 2 weeks. Even though the signal strength on both inputs is showing at 75%+ it is still failing to record & giving error as No Signal :whistling:

We never had anywhere near this many failed recordings on our old Sky+ box, tempted to cancel the HD subscription & plug the old box back.

Just checked my most recent Sky bill online (remembered that we called them last month to change the package) and it's showing as a free call

We had same problem and our box was 7 weeks out of warranty i phoned them up saying i was wanting to cancel my hd sub as i was goin to put in my old sky+ box the advisor from sky asked me why? i explained my hd box was not working correctly and was out of warranty she said she would book service call to have the hd box replaced if i dont cancel hd sub,so i did and 1 week later i had new box fitted which has been fine.

Have the talk unlimited one (extra £5 per month). Have just noticed from your last post that the number you've been calling to contact sky is slightly different to the one I used- perhaps thats something to do with it?
#18
I've had the same problem, I have spoken to Sky and they say :-
if you are on unlimited it is a free call,
if you are on freetalk it is free only evening & weekends
[helper]#19
The Fox
evening & weekends

That's where I'm going wrong then :x
