So currently with virgin which is coming to the end of contract got everything with them apart sports & movies top broadband & all calls package paying £75 called them to see what deal can be done same package £80 have a laugh! Phoned sky only for them to offer me the top package Inc sports & movies hd top broadband & phone for £60 Wow I thought so I cancelled virgin & signed up with sky, then virgin call offer me same package as before so no sports or movies £54 not bad but not as good as sky! So then I chanced my arm & phoned sky back saying virgin have made a counter offer of £54 for the same where do I stand, with that they brought my original sky bill from £60 down to £49 bonus! Now I'm thinking that's a cracker of a deal, can anyone tell me otherwise before I sign? Many thanks so sorry yarn yarn yarn!

if you get sky fibre then go for it. but bear in mind, nothing can replace the consistency of virgin broadband imo. others will disagree of course but ive had nothing but problems with sky having been virgin for 10 years before that. the bb was just not consistent. in the end left early without penalty as sky admitted the customer service had not been good enough. going back to virgin in a few days time.

to go from 75 to 54 from virgin is a stonking reduction.

Not bad; I am getting:

Sky Q with one minibox all channels inc sports and movies for £49 a month - 50% of until 2022
Virgin - 200mbps internet with anytime calls £42 - Not much discount only 8£ if that.

Fancy giving me tips?

Sounds like an amazing deal.
What is the broadband from sky?

It's there top fibre, think it's called fibre max

you'll be paying BT sports @ £25 a month on Sky though - one of the main reasons I moved to Virgin

We had VM and their broadband would go down for weeks at a time. No issue with the line. But just the connection from the house to the cable box up the road.

It was basically once every 2 months we'd be without broadband so we just moved to sky which has been better but had a few times that the sky broadband would be out for a day or so (was a old router box that was faulty).

VM are slow at repairs and sky lacks the quality

I can cope without BT sports tho, virgin still couldn't come anywhere near the sky offer, £49 everything they actually gave me 2 options £49 or £61 with multiroom, but I'll just add sky go to the xboxs for an extra fiver!

You def have more clout if your coming to the end of a contract I'd say don't be afraid to cancel it seems likely they'll always come back with an offer of some sorts!

If you use the net a lot I would stay with virgin

Customer service and repair with virgin is excellent where as sky may charge and there customer service is shocking I've heard

I'll be honest actually found sky very responsive to my calls, now that may because I'm a newbie I don't know! We will see.

For that fiver you could get their £5 SIM unlimited mins and texts and 500mb which also includes Sky go extra. It would mean a 12 month mobile contract, and you would lose your mins if you cancel your TV. Just a thought.

Don't need another sim tho so that I feel would be pointless!
