Sky Help PLEASE!

I'm going round in circles with the guy on the phone and feel like my head may explode!

My contract was due to end 5th june.

I phoned in april and was told I would receive information about the increase in price before this date, I never did.

I phoned on 1st june and changed package, was told my new monthly package would be £28, starting 5th june

On 5th june they tried to take £48.50 - there wasnt enough in bank to cover this as I didnt know this was amount being taken.

Went to put nick jr on for ds this afternoon and they have cancelled my viewing!

Phoned to find out why and was told direct debit was returned to them this month and in order to restore viewing I needed to pay the £48.50

I cant work out why I need to pay that amount, they are saying its because I need to pay month in advance

Can someone please explain how it works, as surely £28 would pay me up until 5th july?

They agree its £28 a month, but this month I have to pay the higher amount the £12 month after to be in advance?

I'm confused!

When you cancel 30 days in advance at the end of your contract before the last bill date, the £28 you are paying now will pay for those last 30 days of your contract.

They should have told you over the phone and by letter what your first bill payment would be.

I didnt cancel my package - I downgraded taking off Sky Sports and some of the movies

They arent asking me to pay £28 they are asking me to pay £48.50?

Effectively if they are telling me I pay month in advance then I should have had those channels until 5th june but they took them off 1st June

I have a poorly toddler here so maybe I'm missing the point!

Think you should ring them back and say you didn't cancel any contract only downgraded your package. Does sound weird, it's not a discount offer they put you on, effectively putting you on a new contract?

How much was the monthly fee before you changed the package?

I've spent hour on phone trying to get them to explain this amount and why I'm paying it but they keep giving me different explainations

I'd really love to find out if my call was recorded as they have told me so many different things I dont think even they know!

Howso? You say you took off the sports and some movies, and yet you were paying £24.95 for that??
And the new monthly fee is more ?

omg, ok you are a star! Just doubled check bank to see what my payment was and it was £24.25.....so thats where the £48.50 has come from!

I asked them twice if that could be it but they kept saying no as my payments were £24.95?! Doh!

I had free installations/sky plus box and half price package for 12mths so thats why its more now for less lol

lol, he comes home from nursery and watches it for about 10mins after lunch before falling asleep! as no nick jr today he's still wide awake and with me spending an hour on the phone he's had fun trashing his bedroom! :w00t:

All sorted now, thanks for comments. Did what I initially asked to do before the onslaught of confusion - cancelled dd, paid the £28 on card and set new dd up for £28 thereafter each month. No idea why that was so difficult but pee'd off at having to pay to argue with dimwits for an hour!
