Unfortunately it is not just Sky News who would do such things in order to get viewership/readers.

True, but any company connected with Murdoch seem to excel at it.

I'll never forget the moment she said "you know you're now looking for a body" to the people searching for April Jones

Chould just be affected by the attitude of the locals if no one cares, they have been looting and not for the first time they did the same thing in pripyat, even going so far as to pick cars clean for spare parts despite the dangers.

the way i see it people are strongly affected by those around them, this can be seen if you go to a country thats extremely polite like Japan, you find yourself being more polite. Equally if no one gives a damn I think that attitude is catching too.

Iwas watching this and prior to the moment when this happened I thought how sensitively Colin Brazier was doing what must be a very difficult live broadcast. This footage seemed totally out of line with how he had previously reported. He looked uncomfortable and I can only imagine he had a producer insisting in his ear that he do so. I agree that Kay Burley needs no such prompting to offend.

There was no need for the tv crew to be there in the first place. Vultures feeding on the misery of others to fill tv time whilst pretending to be serious journalists but just spewing out the usual meaningless drivel based on zero facts.

Suprised that witch didn't have the cases sent to her then taken them directly to the relatives to ask them how they feel. I swear I can't abide that woman!!!

The whole affair is very wrong.

The crash site should have been sealed off immediately. Its a crime scene and it has now impeded on any potential air crash investigations that could be conducted. It has been contaminated. This rummaging begun days before any air crash investigation team reached the site.

This adds further injury to the families of lost ones. We live in a apathetic world.

brazier's apology in the guardian is sincere, i'll give him that. Maybe the madness and chaos of the crash site was contagious.
What a tragedy for the victims, the political squabbling will no doubt continue unabated.

Disgusting to see the locals and rebels (who were supposed to guard the site) act this way.

Yeah Rudolf Hess looked pretty sincere at Nuremberg. It's amazing how sincere he was being while looking at the p45 with his name on it.

It was a momentary lapse of judgement from a decent guy in a very stressful environment. Dealing with a volatile armed militia, visible body parts and pressure to broadast live at length. Take issue with his employers sending him there by all means, but I think you may want to reflect on your comment likening him to a senior Nazi.

He was sent to report from the scene not trample across a crime scene. At no point did his employers ask him to wade across the crime scene and go through a dead child's personal effects. He did it because he thought it would make good news. He did it because he wanted to make a point about children being on board the downed plane but rather than telling the viewer he decided to start pulling personal effects from the crime scene and saying "I shouldn't be doing this really". So NO his apology means nothing whatsoever, he knew what he was doing and continued to do it. The man is a disgrace!

Well, simply a difference of opinion then. Not sure either of us can know what his employers did, or didn't ask him to do. As I mentioned before, this brief incident was very out of character with his reporting before and after, and I can only assume he was asked to do something he was very uncomfortable with, and was possibly speaking as much to his UK based producer as viewers when saying this shouldn't be done. I just think the negative reaction to this aimed at him personally is disproportionate. I am no apologist for Sky / News Corp though. Anyway, we all observe things differently and I am glad you seem to be getting over the loss of your dog now.

I see Sky are using the Dutch bodies/families as a tool to provide this afternoons "entertainment"

Why are they there ? Cant they just leave the families to mourn in peace.
No doubt we will be getting some nice close ups of distraught family members :(

Did you see the full video of this incident ? No, I didnt think so. More manipulated propaganda the public have readily swallowed.

So to put you straight. The guy had retrieved the teddy held it up then llaid it down, took off his cap, and said a blessing over it. Respectful gesture manipulated by the biased British media and swallowed hook line and sinker by the gullible Brits.

you're talking like it happened in a normal country, this is a war zone it came down in, the rules don't apply in a war zone, the people of Hrabove are lucky they didn't get wiped out by it, people may automatically blame them for the looting being so close but for every bag rummaged through there is a flower laid in that place, looters swarm from miles around it only takes a few to make a bad impression and frankly I think they were very respectful to the dead given the circumstances, they were laying out there for days in the sun with the wild animals, I'm not surprised they gathered them up and shoved them in a refrigeration train, the train line is the nearest thing to that area, also giving the black boxes directly to a rep from the airline sounds like the best thing to do in that situation, handing them to the nearst authority, Ukraine or Russia would just result in more accusations of tampering with evidence.

the British media on this matter is all sensationalist they are trying to put a view across, despite all the arms we sell around the world Russia is the bad guy who needs dealing with simply because it was a Russian made weapon. Such hypocrisy

250 arms industry licenses issued by the UK gov for Russians deals and we tell the French off for selling ships to Russia at the sametime. Idiots that are either clueless or just deliberately having different rules for different peoples ?

I am expecting to come home to find Kay Burley having dug him up and asking me how I feel about the situation. Or worse the reporter walking round with big Ron's collar on saying "I really shouldn't be peeing up this lamp post " :D

Here is the video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xLdRBaL4-wU the picture you showed starts at 0:58

He was not trying to be disrespectful in anyway, it was a childs toy which he was showing to reporters, to show that children were also killed in this tragedy.

All " journalists " in the UK were complicit in this fabricated anti Russian propaganda. This video appeared on RT the station that is usually derided as a Russian propaganda machine :D

Uk journalists are mostly complicit in the biased reporting of this and many conflicts and as a result are now seen as fair targets around the world because they are seen as working to spread government policy and not as truth seekers. Thats why so many die around the world year after year, tragic.
