I am pretty sure you can get better from sky even if you had to add setanta...plus customer service and reliability is far better with sky IMO

It is NOT next season, it is the season after.

Basically the Premier matches are divided up into 6 packages for TV, and companies bid for each package (about 24 matches per package, give or take).

Currently Sky have 4 packages and Setanta 2 packages. This also applies to NEXT season (2009/10)

The season after that Sky will have 5 of the packages and Setanta only 1. So Setanta will only have about 24 Premier matches.

However they will still have (as far as I am aware) England matches and FA Cup matches (and scottish and other football).

Depends what you want, I have Virgin broadband and phone as its the only place to get a guaranteed 20meg connection and sky can only do 2.5meg, but I have my tv with sky simply because im not paying virgin for a HD box i dont want just so i can record live tv etc, but i do have a completely free box from virgin because of the phone.

I've got Sky at the moment, TV (Sky +), broadband, phone call & line rental, I'm only paying about £27 a month. No movies/sport mind, and I'm getting line rental free for a year because I threatened to leave and go elsewhere. So if you include that it would be about £38 a month all in, then whatever it costs for additional packages.

As for Setanta, I had it for a while, but it's not worth the money imo. The premiership games that are on aren't that great if you don't support a team that's playing (things like Middlesborough v Wigan, no big games like Man U v Chelsea), and with Setanta losing matches it's only going to get worse. The scottish games that are on have either rangers or celtic playing, and it's not really worth the money a month to watch Rangers v Hamilton. I'd just have sky sports if I was you and watch any othet games you don't have in the pub.

I've had sky broadband for 2 years and never had a problem with it, I think an HD box is currently about £49 and you pay £10 a month (although I think that charge may be scrapped soon - can't be sure tho). And you can get a specific package for all the kids channels, I think it costs about £1-2 a month extra.

impossible when you have 2 small kids sadly, even though I am female I love my footie, I like watching any match.

Thanks for your help, repped!

Having used both sky and virgin boxes the sky software is far superior. Virgin box is so damn slow and ugly.
