If you predominantly want the TV side, get Sky, if you mainly want broadband get Virgin.

From your post, it seems you are mostly interested in the TV side, so i'd go for Sky

Virgin.

I pay £65 a month through sky
Full package £45 plus £10 for multiroom plus £10 for HD
Also at the moment £6.50 for Setanta
I used to be with Virgin around 3 years ago but believe sky is sooooooo much better
Get somebody you know to recomend you to sky. Usually get some sort of incentive..

Sky... in Currys Stratford Upon Avon yesterday they had a flip chart offering Sky HD for £75 plus £30 installation for new customers and £60 installation for old customers

imo, I would play one off against the other to see what deal you can get.. especially if your outside your first 12months with Sky.

Firstly, make sure both Sky and Virgin BB are avaiable in your Area (although SKY wont know if your can get Virgin and vise versa) Then price up the TV, BB and Phone packages with Virgin initially. Call Sky, can see what they offer first - dont mention Virgin YET!!

I currently pay 54£ per month for 4 Mixes, SKY+ and 1 Multiroom BOX, Phone (unltd anytime calls), Line Rental for Phone and BB (i get 4mb).... but do not have Sports/Films. It saves me about £6 per year, PLUS the cost of my calls, which were average of £25 each, for the past 4 months.

Remember - Check Virgin Costs, Listen to SKY, and BARTER BARTER BARTER!! Even ask for "Cancellations/Rententions" Department, who will give you a better deal to encourage you to stay with them. Also, contact TALK TALK, and request your MAC Code for BB changeover (you can do this now, as it lasts for 30days!)

Good Luck... Let us know what you get

When I rang yesterday the chap said to me that if a friend recommends you I could have a free HD box. Whether he got it wrong or not is a different matter but I thought it was a great offer - still have to pay the £10 a month fee but the box was free!

Out of interest is there a website that you can stream most live sports in good quality? I'm aware of the free ones like justin.tv. If its pay it wouldn't bother me depending on price of course. I was just thinking that I can hook my 42" tv up to the PC and stream it direct to the tv.

I doubt its legal is it?

I'd pay £50 a year to have sports on my TV through a year to be honest. Its only the sports im interested in, the rest I watch on freeview.

If anyone knows a site with good streaming quality can you let me know please?

Many thanks.
