right, in september of last year, i forgot to pay my bill and they cut me off half way through october.

in january, my bill was around £120 so i paid it off and asked them to re-connect me, wich they did.

however, when i asked them to refund me for the months in which i had no service, they said they would investigate, and take it off my next bill.

my next bill then came in at £60, which obviously i did not pay as i was not happy.

my bill now stands at £109 and they have cut me off again and forwarded the bill to debt collectors. is there any way i can recover the months of no service if i pay the £109??

When you refused to pay your next bill of £60, did you discuss it with them first, or did you just not pay?

Sometimes companies charge for letters that have been sent out requesting payment if late etc,so if you think more is owed its probably some kind of admin charge.

Most companies will charge up to £15 for a phone call and up to £20 for letters if they are chasing late payments. Scandalous I know.

your september billing covers one month in advance so I take it that the billing failed in the september and they tried to re-submit it 14 days later, which would have been failed also and this would be why you would have been blocked, when you are blocked you will not be accumulating any further arrears.(unless you are within your first year of contract), are you sure you were blocked and it wasn't due to a technical fault,
what message was on the screen, CALL THIS NUMBER TO UPGRADE or NO SATTELITE SIGNAL BEING RECEIVED.

(did you ask for an extention of viewing when you had been blocked?)

did you have any movies to pay for and did you at anytime upgrade your package as this will occur a balance on the account being created before the billing date,

When you were switched back on you would have been billed from the day you were re-activated up to your billing date and a month in advance which would have been correct at around the £60 mark,

You should phone them up and ask for them to give you the billing amounts and the dates they covered you for and then take it from there, I worked for sky for 10 just finished in december last year due to medical grounds so if you need anymore help please just ask, I know there are a few more Sky employees lurking on the site too.

hope this helps and doesn't confuse you more

Similar thing happened to us - get it paid off and accept that they are a bunch of double dealing tw@*s - the chance of you coming out on top of this is about 5%. You are caught in a no win situation because their 'help line' costs a bloody fortune as well. We had 'enjoyed' a 3 year contract with them, so we cut our loses, severed our relationship - kept the dish and box, and just get freeview channels.
IF you do wish to persue it however, it's worth bearing in mind that if you have contact with the call centre - there are loads of them, so get PLENTY of details about the operator - call centre name as well as the operators name - Good Luck though - you are going to need it!!!
