Sky problem - Annoying!!

Hey all, I have freezing and blocking on my sky tv, so I paid £50 for a company to check the LNB and dish cables etc, they come back to me saying its the box, which is out of warranty!!

A few years ago I had a similar prob, and sky basically told me where to stick it, and I had to pay for a new box.

Anyhoo, phoned them up, expecting a battle, they are sending an engineer for FREE!! and fixing it for FREE!!!

How is this, have they changed the policys?!

They lied to you as they replaced are box and when you are with them you would expect them to replace faulty boxes as your paying for a service which they are providing.

It sounds like a dish /LNB /cable fault to me, unlikely that a Sky Receiver would produce those results.

this is what I said also, its rare that a receiver would cause signal issues. But I could be mistaken. The aerial people plugged gizmos into the cables etc, and changed the cabling.

I had the same symptoms, freezing on certain channels and it was the box that was at fault.

So many people probably canceling sky at the moment beacuse of the credit crunch, don't think they want to run the risk of losing customers.

just threaten to cancel , i done it twice for my daughter no problem , just hang out until they say hang on ill see my boss, it never fails they dont want to lose your custome, if you have movies or sports ask for sky+ just say you cant afford the fitting or the £49 for box, i have had mine free this way plus lotsof my mates afterr they done what i did
