Sky Problem-HELP PLEASE

Hi,
I downgraded my package around the 12th June to the 2 mixes for £15 and cancelled my HD and everything else - i was then offered the movies for £1 for 3 months as i saw on here.
I was told i would not have to pay anything in July as they had taken full payment of £47 out already and then it would be £16 for Aug and Sept -but to ring them before 15th Sept to cancel the movies and it would be back to £15 per month.
Today i got my magazine they are taking £27 in July , £47 in Aug and £48 in Sept !!:w00t:
I have been on the phone for 3 hours this afternoon !!! and still nothing is sorted -apparantly they haven't cancelled the Hd subscription as i requested either. I got put to 5 different departments ,then had to ring back on the 0870 number and then the guy said he had never heard of the movie offer ever and could only put me back to £15 for 2 mixes . I had the movie offer to give me chance to copy the films on to my dvd recorder -but now i have no idea whats going off and they said they still will take the £27 out on the 5th July anyway !
I have even tried to send an email -but it came back and said the email i sent it to does not exist - i am at my wits end as i cancelled because of financial problems and now i am still worried sick.
Thinking of telling them what to do with it altogether !!!

You get companies like these that just pass you around and around from person to next, press option this for this and so on and you don't get nowhere. If you on no contract then consider being shot of them.
Best thing to do is get rid of it,I tell you if I would get rid of Sky if my partner didn't want it. I could just buy dvd boxsets of any series I would want to see and it would cost me a great deal less. Not worth it,since Lost finished I ain't watched nowt else apart from the odd film.

Call them and say that the problems have led to you wanting to cancel your sky because it was hard enough paying for it anyway, now with the problems they have caused you, added stress and added cost - you want to cancel. See what they offer you

Thanks- someone is supposed to be ringing me back tonight after i went through to cancellations and told them i was going to cancel- bet no-one rings me !!
She then said their department was closed after tonight until saturday !!!!!!!!!!!

how long have you had Sky for? If it's been more than 1 year, i would cut your losses. Tell them that you no longer wish their services, and tell them that you are cancelling the standing order with your bank. When you have sufficient finances get a freeview box. FAR less hassles - after all you are having to pay for all the calls to sky to get the problem sorted. Funny thing that you should be having to contact your bankers, as what i think about the 'service' and support offered by Sky, rhymes with the word!!:x Once the operators are aware that your have financial problems (but know that you are still having to pay to use their 'customer services') they will take great pleasure from keeping you on the line!!! Good luck though:thumbsup:

Hi,
Now heres the good one- i have a Panasonic dvd recorder with 160gb (i think) HDdrive which i bought a good while ago and its got freeview incorporated -BUT i cant seem to get to grips with the manual to understand how to record with it !! Thats why i carried on with Sky !
Iwill now have to sit down and study it as once i get to grips with it i can cancel sky altogether - i also havent got to grips with copying from the Sky box onto the dvd recorder either - if i can get this sorted out i can cancel sky altogether- i only watched Living Tv a lot anyway -everything else i watch is on freeview.
Now just to make today even better-the problem i had with the battery not keeping time on my computer has got worse and i am having major problems with that now- i have to get a battery on wednesday - a CR2032 i have been told.
When i switched it on -i had no screen at first and the base unit was emitting a high pitched noise . I then had to go into a strange screen and use the keyboard as the computer is losing all the bios info every time i switch it off !!- the joys of technology !!! :-( :-(

Well you dont need freeview as you keep the SKY box when you cancel anyway.

As for how to record to the DVD recorder, just connect the Scart output of SKY box into the input of the DVD recorder(it says on back which is which)

Once done just select something like source button on remote till it says Scart and you will have the SKY pic on your recorder.

As for recording there will be 2 modes, DVD and HD, normally a button changes between the 2

Hi,
... if i can get this sorted out i can cancel sky altogether- i only watched Living Tv a lot anyway -everything else i watch is on freeview.

If you do cancel it - after a couple of weeks you won't really miss it. We adapted pretty quickly. And as ryouga says, if you've had the contract over a year you can keep the box. You get to keep the box, and your 40 or so quid a month, and Sky can go and .....fleece another unsuspecting soul!

Hi,
Yes , i have had the box for a year and i bought it anyway as its the HD box.
Its the timer recording i am not sure on -i have the Sky box on AV6 and the DVD recorder on AV2 .Its all set with the scart leads its just me being thick not knowing how to do the timer recording and the freeview is incorporated in the dvd recorder (its a Panasonic EX75- I think the hdd is 160 ).
Also i have a few Sky films on the sky hd i want to copy onto the dvd recorder too.

Hi
Thankyou very much - i have printed out the Sky movies deal for £1 that was on here that i thought i had got -but some people i spoke to yesterday insisted it had never been offered at all !! So ,i thought i would prove it !
#18
Hi,
Just to let you know i posted my complaint to Sky yesterday -so will wait and see if i get a reply.
I never got a call back that night as promised and had to ring them again ,which was another hour explaining the problem and they hadn't cancelled my Hd subscription even then -i was told they would do it that night - Guess what - i can still get the channels -so they still haven't cancelled it after all those hours on the phone !
At my wits end now- if i don't get a reply - i will just cancel my D.D altogether !
