We've cancelled our sky recently and getting virgin instead. I have a ton of recorded programs on the sky+ box i want to watch and probably won't have enough time to see them all before we switch over, will they still be able to play once our contract has expired?

In short - NO!!

Do you have a DVD recorder? You could record them onto DVD to watch another time.

Only way you can use the PVR functions (i.e. Watch recorded programs, pause, rewind, etc) is to pay Sky £10 a month to continue to use the Sky+ PVR features.
