Hello All,

Can I ask what is covered by Sky + standard installation?

Having it installed today. As an existing for about 5 years got it free by threatening to cancel!

And my Sky box is installed upstairs and now want Sky + installed downstairs .

Do you think they will do this?

Also has anyone had Sky + installed recently? I know a lot of offers around! (are there the official sky engineers or the third parties) i had to wait for a while got the special heights team come down

anyway

thanks all!!

Well they have to install a new wire anyway, so dont think it would matter where they install it to.

Only problem is what they do with the other wire going to current sky box. If they leave it you will have to pay for sky multiroom (£10 a month)

I had sky+ installed in july, free box and free installation

I have just gone up to Sky+.

What we asked the fitter to do was to install Sky+ downstairs, & then set a line to upstairs so we could watch sky on our old box in one of the bedrooms.

(Admittedly the upstairs box is using an old card so we only get freebie channels.)

When the fitter turns up offer him a cuppa first, & then explain what you would like & he'll sort you out.

Just had a third sky+ box installed for free as i did the same as you and threatened to leave.Already had 2 sky + boxes and 1 standard. If you get a sky engineer they will simply attatch a twin cable to your existing single cable and pull it through, dispose of the old one and then connect up to new box.If you get a contract engineer like i did (despite saying that i wanted a sky engineer),then who knows. The one i got was umming and arghing about how to run the cable,so i suggested about pulling a twin cable through....ooohh,i haven't got any of that,he said,it is to expensive. As the existing cable ran through my loft,i had to assist him to feed a new cable through the tiles and through the loft alongside the existing one.
So don't be concerned about existing cable as they will either reuse it for new box or just remove it.
