SKY, VIRGIN or FREEVIEW??

I am becoming more and more frustrated as i have hardly any channels left to watch on Freeview they seem to be diminishing every week, even the Radio Stations are only now BBC Radio channels!

I would like some help on which provider to go with as a new customer, I have read about the £75.00 one off Sky deal and this appeals to me. Any recommendations guys?

Thanks a lot x

I'm happy with Freeview. I can live without Lost series 26 and Prison Break 12 (have they got out yet ?). I'v e not lost any channels either - you may have a signal problem.

Get a PVR (e.g. Humax 9150T for £97.86 from Argos) and you have the functionality of Sky+ and no contract either...

try re-tuning all your freeview channels. Should be loads.

and get an HDD recorder and you'll never run out of stuff to watch!

For what my two-penneth is worth - I have had ALL 3!

Yep!

I can give you pro's and con's on all, but......?

Ultimately, I (guess) it's a lifestyle choice? I mean - I can see (and to an extent agree with) the comment above about too much to pay for watching TV, BUT.....
Well, in all honesty it depends on your circumstances and situation doesn't it. Some people see this as a blessin in disguise, as without it they would be terrribly bored or in sme cases even lonely - ut hey lets not go down that route - this isn't the point is it.

OK - Cable Telwest, NTL, call it what you will........
It is 'good' insofar as you don't have a chavvy dish on the side of you house, and it is all nice and neat and what not, and you get lots of extra choices (similar to sky and packages) BUT.....
BUT....
You know what? Sometimes when you hear people on TV say those of you with Sky press the Red button now... And you don't have it! Grrrr!!
No, it isn't quite that SAD but - there isn't really anything 'wrong' as such with Cable. Although Sky frequently have their battles over whether or not they will let them have Sky 1, 2 and so on....
Sky ~(~which Icurrently have - complete with Chav Dish) has got loads and loads on - in all honesty, I neither watch it, nor care to. I don't either use the Red button that i soooo wanted!

The receptionis GOOD - BUT the trees around me, can make it very dubious in the summer when they all come out into bloom and get thicj foliage on.. In fact, so much so that I had to get an engineer to raise the ghastly dish to the very top of the houise on a pole! Not exactly inviting!

Cable, you have no such issues with.

Freeview (I have upstairs on the TV - wahat can i say? It's OK for an upstairs bedroom, but blimey, if I want to watch the mices on TV or any other feline activity, I have to opt for my Sky Sports or Movies downstairs on the Sky.

I would STILL go back to cable though. But if my dish wasn't so awful I would stick with the Sky, as I can't complain about the service, just the God Dam Wolf that lives in the nasty trees behind me blocking the sgnal in the summer.

Ultimately it is up to you and what you want.

There is no mess with cable, there is a dish with SKy, Freeview can be upgraded, but it won't be long till you are paying nearly Sky prices anyway! OR just stick to your digital TV and hope for the best!

Purrrrrrrrr.

The Personal Video Recorder, records the channels for you inthe same way that the Sky Plus I have does - it allows you to pause live tv and so on.... The Humax has some great reviews too....

Not a bad thought for those without Sky Plus. I love mine. :p
