Does anyone know any brands that stock slim fit clothes for girls. Not just adjustable waist jeans but leggings, tracksuit trousers, skirts and shorts as I either have to buy way younger sizes so they stay up round their waist, or they are stuck with wearing jeans, 3/4 trousers with adjustable waist or dresses. My 4 year old wants leggings and a layered skirt and youngest is small for her age and all the clothes in Asda for her are babyish....

Anyone else notice that clothing in uk for girls is way wrong for sizing? For example Asda pj trousers - the shorts are fine but the long trousers are so long god only knows when she will ever fit them! The elastication on waist makes pj bottoms not so bad for fitting but stuffed with their trousers that dont have adjustable waist! But I guess womens sizes are getting longer too so just hope my daughters grow u with the standard 32 or 34 legs - but guess once they are adults standard leg length will be even longer!

Next possibly. I have always bought my daughter's trousers, shorts etc from Next as she is skinny and other makes are like clown trousers on her. I bought some skinny fit shorts and jeans in the sale. If you ask in the shop they will be able to check their copy of the directory.

My sister in law got some leggings and top sets from Ethel Austin for my daughter. They seem nice and slim, whereas alot of clothes seem baggy on her usually. She also has a lovely leggins and beautiful top set from Tesco's which are also a great fit. Lots of our clothes come from Next, but I must say that Adams seems to fit my kids nicely - they are usually slim in fitting!

Thank goodness we can buy short length as adults though! And I noticed the choice of longer length is gettign better too.

I must admit I do have problems like you say with trousers.

With regards to leggings, the Next ones are really baggy on my daughter, but I bought a couple of pairs from Asda the other day and they fit lovely. Asda's jeans are a bit hit and miss, usually they are baggy around the waist but I bought my daughter a pair the other day that are very slim fitting with an adjustable waistband and embroidered back pockets for £7 - result. However, the best place for slim fitting clothes is GAP, admittedly they are a bit more expensive but you could always try and get some stuff from one of their outlet stores to save a bit of money. They were really well and I'm now hooked as I now that whatever I get from there will fit both my skinny daughters (and neice who is REALLY slim), I always buy a size smaller than I would in Next too as they are really long but that just makes the size I get fit even better.

Thanks for all advice - Asdas seem baggy on the 4 year old - will save up and see if I can get some next or gap stuff, and see if there is still an adams up my sisters neck of the woods, failing that can try getting some stuff second hand on fleabay! I stay up in Scotland and dont drive so usually have to add bu and\or train fares to a day out - thank god kids are still free though!

Look for GAP on fleabay, as they're such good quality I find that second hand they are still in a really good condition - and a lot cheaper!! Look out for the long and lean range, if they don't state this then send them a question as these are the really slim jeans/cords and they have lots of stretch in them. I put my daughters on ebay (winter stuff I put in end of September) and the stuff she's grown out of still look brand new.
