Small Laptop suggestions?

I'm thinking of getting a new laptop and have been looking on Dell's website. I've noticed the M1330 that they do and quite like the look of it. however, i'm not so keen on the price as really it's a gaming laptop and don't really need it for that. Does anybody know of any similar laptops, that are small in size roughly 13", that have a DVD drive but don't cost as much? Must also be core 2 duo min 2ghz please :)
I can't find any anywhere. Out of curiosity also, does anyone have a M1330 and any comments on it??

I recently bought a laptop for my daughter for xmas. It was from Dixons, refurbished, they have some really good deals on their refurbished laptops which are updated all the time, warranty for 12 months, it's worth a look.

Hey

i would recommend the Samsung Q45

i have the Q35 and it is built like a dream, it is ~£450 if you look hard enough
not sure on the spec of the Q45 coz it is the upgrade but the laptop itself is amazing build and gets a easy 5 hours on the battery even with the screen at a usable brightness

I used mine for uni for ages and cant fault it

Yes but you can get an external one if you need it - all of the current generation of netbooks do not come with optical drives in place.

Cheers, Scotty Boy!

Thanks very much. That's why i'm after a small laptop and not a netbook really. don't want to have to have a external drive. Bit of a pain really when i just want to stick few songs on itunes etc.

Have you checked out eBay UK for deals on smaller used laptops or looked at refurbished laptops from BigPockets? Just an idea I thought I should put out there for you.

I haven't looked on ebay. Think i'd be a bit wary about buying off ebay due to warranty etc. Will check out bigpockets tho
