your community midwife is normally part of your surgery staff!

Try to find out who your community midwife is and get an appointment( in my area they come to you), they can be so helpful in lots of ways and sort out paperwork and official things in a trice, they have all the contacts and phone nos. and will give lots of reassurance when you need it in a couple of months time.

this happened to me.

i tired crying down the phone to my midwife, but it didn't work.

i got so fed up i got a private scan.

for £70 i got a video of the scan. it was only a growth scan but if there was anything suspect i would have been referred straight back to nhs, which i felt reassured about.

i don't think £70 is o lot to pay for piece of mind.

i didn't tell the nhs, so i got my 20 week scan as well. by the, it was a 24 week scan.

so far ive seen one midwife to take blood ect at about 3 months who found out i'd had a tear so i had to see the consultant, then i had a bleed and saw the consultant a bit eariler than my appoinment and had a scan at 14 weeks, he told me i was back with the midwife team as he didnt see a problem said he didnt need to see me till i was overdue, then i got 2 appoinments in the post from the consultant one on my due date (9th jan) and one in october which i havent a clue what thats for either, this is my first child in this area only been with the doctors about a year so not sure how it works here with the midwife but i will call them at some point, need to calm down lol, havent got my pregnancy notes either the midwife kept them from my very first appointment

Aww... babyxxxxx............try and stay calm, don't get yourself yourself worked up although heaven knows you have been given reason to.

I'd recommend you go today to see your GP and don't take no for an answer.

Good luck, hope you get things sorted and let us know how you get on :friends: xxx

Deep breaths, count to ten and get on that phone to your GP, sure he /she will sort it all out for you.

Poor you, no wonder you feel like crying.
You do need to stay calm so why not have a chat to your O/H at lunch-time and get him to phone your GP so that the secretarial staff there can sort it all out for you. It'd be best if he does any ranting if it's needed!!

ide calmly make an appointment with your gp, and they should not keep your notes, they are given to you for a reason and you should carry them at all times, so speak to your gp about this too
#16
I would give your GP surgery a ring, speak to them and tell them the situation. I was seen every 4 wks from around 10 wks of pregnancy.

You should have your notes as your meant to take them everywhere with you incase you need to go into hospital so they have all your details.

I would be stressed like you, try not to get stressed and i hope you get this sorted as it seems out of order the way your being treated and wrong.

i thought the whole idea with pregnancy notes was that you took them wherever you went, like the children's little red book.

i think you should go and see your gp now, there are too many questions.

book an appointment for today.

nobody came to my home this time, i went straight to the hospital, well i called my doctors, explained what has happened to the reception person, as i didnt want to make an appointment if it wasnt needed, she told me to try the hospital again and gave me a number i told her that was the number ive been calling allday to be told they couldn't do anything, and asked her how i go about changing hospitals, she told me i didnt need to change hospitals, so i told her i want to change and who should i talk to, then she started being all funny with me told me today was emergency appoinments only and there closing at 2 as its a tuesday, so i asked her when the midwife was next in, she told me she didnt know as she wasnt there this week, by this point im so angry in nearly in tears, so i just said thank you and hung hung up, WTF??? argh!!! now im thinking maybe i should change doctors lol why wont anybody help me, maybe i should just wait till october till the next apponiment they gave me dunno whats its for tho, and book myself in for a private scan even tho i dont have any pregnancy notes

why are you not being seen every 4 weeks by someone, if you are under shared care by a consultant, you still need to be seen by either your gp, a midwife or the consultant, when was the last time you where seen by one of the above

wouldn't worry about not having notes if you want a private scan. its a totally separate thing.

You poor thing, sounds like you are having a real nightmare and no one is willing to help.
I have been in a similar situation and my advice to you is:

Put your feet up with a cuppa and relax, stress is not good for you or your baby.

Ring the doctors and ask them for the number of your midwife and her mobile number (they always have a mobile in case of emergencies)

Ring her and explain what you have told us and that you are upset as you have had problems with bleeding etc.

I had bleeding all throughout both of my pregnancies sometimes worse than others. I hemorrhaged whilst 13 weeks pregnant and again after having my boy but both were born safe and sound

you really need to get an appointment with your gp and sort this out, you should be ebing seen every 4 weeks till the later stages where it changes to every two weeks, then the last month i think its every week, make an appointment with your gp, you are not going to get anywhere by phoning and getting upset, phone up and make the appointment
