I've had a crappy day too. I once bought a Samsung CLP-300 colour laser costing £130. Hardly used it, in fact it's only put out 1165 prints and still has the original toners that came with it. Anyway, noticed this week that the print quality has really gone bad. Phoned Samsung and it needs a new Imaging Unit at a cost of £130!!! Yes, the price of the one part is the price of the FULL PRINTER!!

My main bug though is these units are supposed to last for 20,000 images not 1000, but because the printer is now out of the 12 month warranty, Samsung want nothing to do with it :x I'm now wondering what to do with it. I don't want to buy the part, as I might as well scrap the printer and start again.

Don't you think Samsung should take responsibility?

It's a shame our kids won't understand what we are doing for them until they are adults. My 2 don't stay at anyone's house, except family.

If your are not comfortable yet, then of course you are a great mum for caring so much - as opposed to some parents who are quite glad for a bit of piece!

Yes, of course, but it isn't the manufacturer but the retailer who is responsible.

Get it repaired.

Write to the retailer recorded delivery asking them to refund the cost of the repair as the goods were not of merchantable quality under the Sale of Goods Act or of satisfactory quality under the Sale of Goods and Services Act.

If they refuse, take them to small claims court for the money.

The guarantee period is totally irrelevant. One year is not a reasonable life for a printer; nor is 1,000 prints.
