aww I'm so sorry. Its terrible, like losing a member of the family. people without pets really underestimate the pain when they go.

I would recommend going to get a cat from a shelter/rescue home asap. I know from experience that I never last long without one and it's better to try and ease the pain as quickly as possible by helping another cat out of a life of misery.

Thoughts are with you :(

Aww hun, am thinking of you, it's incredible how much they become part of the family and so terribly sad when they pass. Remember the good times, and you never know, the cat that is lost may have just gone for a bit of a holiday and be back soon! xx

Hi is it early days that the 2nd one has gone missing? It might still turn up!

Good luck finding your kitty.

Also my mum can't last out getting new cats when she loses hers - she says never again - but then before we know it, she has a new little kitten.

did the missing one go after the one that was put down....maybe its missing its mate, hopefully it will come home

exactly! we've figured it's better not to prolong the suspense and just go save a new one! This is after 4 or so occasions where we've lost a pet and not lasted 3 months without getting a new one!

I hope your other cat comes home. How long has it been gone? are they microchipped? x

I do hope there are no pigeon fanciers near where you live!

I was in our local pet shop a few days ago and there were lots of notices about missing cats. Owner reckons this happens whenever the weather is warm. We also have a missing cat and we're trying not to worry too much. In the past I've known one of our cats go missing for two weeks then just stroll in as if they've never been away. Do you have a cat flap? One of our cats was, in the past, found not to be missing when I stayed up really late one night and saw him come in, eat, then leave.
Hope you find your missing cat soon.

You may still find the missing cat. A couple of years ago in the summer a neighbour was asking if anyone had seen her cat. It was missing about a month then reappeared. According to her looking a bit scrawny but perfectly ok. They can get shut in sheds or in peoples houses if the owners go away on holiday. Dont give up hope yet and ask around in case anyone has seen it. A cat can often have several owners whether or not you believe you are the owner.

Don't know if you're still looking at this, but our missing cat walked in tonight. Hope you found yours...

Glad your moggy is back - as you've said they can wander / get locked in or whatever and still come back after weeks - 'hope Eliss108's is back soon :-(
